It's an awesome thing, the 8900 is $149.00 without a rebate! I'll finally be able to get it but it just makes me wonder, are new phones on the horizon?

There are always new phones.

When the current "cool" phones become cheap, there is almost always a replacement on the horizon.

The only phones that dropped in price were the G1 ($180 to $150) and the BB Curve 8320 ($100 to $75).

Now the BB Curves (8900 and 8320), Sidekicks (all), Dash and Wing do not have any mail in rebates, and the prices are out the door. The only "catch" is that a data plan is now REQUIRED (no point having those phones without the data plans anyway).

The only slated "replacements" for those phones coming out is the TouchPro 2 (replacing the Wing) and the Dash 3g (replacing the Dash). There were already recent releases for Blackberries and Sidekicks, so no replacements for those anytime soon.

New android is coming soon, 3g BB is coming later.

One thing i find funny is people keep mentioning the Wing as a phone. That device was GARBAGE!!!

Yeah the Blackberry Driftwood/Onyx, which looks amazing! 3G, Optic Trackball, WI-FI, 3.2 Megapixel camera, this phone has everything.

And for the cheaper crowd, the Blackberry 8520, which also has a optical trackball. It's good to see T-mobile dropping their prices to clear room for the beast that is the Driftwood!

The driftwood isn't going to have an optical trackball. It will still have the regular track ball. There is going to be a different blackberry called the Gemini that will have an optical trackball. Its going to be more of an entry level blackberry.

The 8520 is the business (non-ghetto meaning: it's the best to date)! I haven't used a finer Blackberry than this, let alone any phone.
