Hello!

My question is as stated above. i have recently learned that T-Mobile has launched in my area. My area suffers from a lack of great competition, we only have Sprint, Alltel (now going AT&T) and 2 other regional carriers. They do not have a store here, would anyone know if they plan of putting one here? Is the company worth signing up with? I know I really do not want to become AT&T based on what I have heard on here and as well as Howard Forums, and also with people I know that have AT&T. Any and all recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Well it all depends on if you will be traveling, what you'll be using, etc.

For instance, if you're going to be traveling long distances often enough, I'd steer clear of those regional carriers. I would choose one of the nationwide companies...

Since you have the choice of Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile, I really would choose T-Mobile. If you go with AT&T (which is still Alltel), and something goes wrong with you CDMA Alltel phone, you're probably going to have to switch to an AT&T GSM phone anyway to get a replacement. And Sprint isn't in the best shape financially, so you probably wouldn't want to choose them.

T-Mobile also has an advantage price-wise in a lot of ways. You will get more bang for your buck like a regional carrier and...

Sprint, I have had, and I will never go back to them. I know full well what the coverage for me is. It will not work where I need it to. Pleateau is a regional comapny, and has most of the people around here, just because of the coverage alone. They are a GSM provider, and currently at 3G. I could say i am looking for something new, and I am liking the plans that T-Mobile has. A good plus is that where there is no T-Mo, I assume it would access Pleateau's network. Alltel has a GSM network built out here, but it's only 2G. I have been with Alltel for 3+ years. Alltel is well loved here, and I hope that AT&T would comliment and expand that coverage, to keep people from going away.

I was checking out your Plateau... they have a neat selection of phones!

I've had T for about 4 or 5 years and have never had any major problems with them (up in Albuquerque and down here in Las Cruces). Good prices and they're starting to come out with some great handsets now. But they don't have much when it comes to 3G coverage and I don't even think that we'll be getting it here in the LC anytime soon, although if T-Mobile is starting from scratch in Roswell, I don't see why they wouldn't roll it out from the get go there.

Bottom line, I'd recommend T-Mobile. They'd be a good choice...
