unlimited 49.99

My sister called CS and they told her about the unlimited minute plan for 49.99 and she decided to just switch to that plan. So my question, is there any catches to this plan? Does it extend her contract (because they didn't tell her very much) and what exactly does it include? Thanks for the help all

No catches on that plan. The only thing is you have to be with T-mobile for 22 months. Thats it.

Or the catch that you have to buy up all the additional services such as data and messaging. Still a good deal, but slightly misleading.

How is in misleading? Unlimited minutes for $49.99. There is no mention of sms or data. Sure you have to add on sms or data if you need it but its still cheaper than anything else around.

$85 will get you unlimited mins, sms, and data. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Telenav is always $9.99 a month, that's set by them. The only thing I can think of that you could get with T-mobile as far as TV services go is MobiTV, which is also 9.99 a month.

That would bring a grand total of 105 a month at T-Mobile in comparison to 100 at Sprint.

However...

There is a key difference in the fact that 99% of consumers could not care less about mobile TV, and perhaps 90% do not have any interest in GPS navigation, and even if they did, would probably go for BlackBerry Maps or Google Maps for free. In which case these people could get away for $85 a month.

The Sprint plan gives you no option to remove those features, so in my opinion I think the T-mobile way is probably a better choice for most consumers.

So your saying out of the 30 million plus customers only about 30 thousand want TV, i pretty sure if they could have it for free with their data plan i believe a lot more people would want it. Are you serious everyone wants gps, if your logic of 90% of people didn't care about gps then companies like garmin and tom-tom and telenav wouldn't exist.

Look at this from the other perspective, because so many people have garmin and tom-tom already then they do not care about having gps on the cell phone.

Exactly. If you have ever used Garmin, or Tom Tom especially, you will see that Telenav is a little sub par in comparison. It's still a neat service for street directions, but if you want to take it out hiking and help find your way, your pretty much screwed since it needs a signal, whereas garmin and tom tom do not.

Find some real market information about GPS on cell phones, I'm sure its out there.

I'm sorry i would rather have free gps service with my plan then paying 300 dollars for a good gps device... i think more than 1% of the people at tmobile feel that way.

Think is your key word. You should ask people that work there. Not many people want it. The sprint "everything" plan is nice and I can see a bunch of people thinking they need it. Seriously though how many people you know really use their phone for GPS? GPS on phones at this point is a joke. The screens are small and if you're driving talk about a hazard. At this point its cute and a "fun" feature. Those people serious about GPS use real GPS services. This RP is a Unlimited mins RP. You'd be surprised how many people call in practically crying about the savings and the specially offer that is there for them. It truly is a nice RP.

I have Telenav on my phone, and it is pretty much useless. It is slow and has problems aquiring satellites/towers. I tried it on the free trial program, and I won't be buying it. If I need a GPS I will use my Magellan Roadmate. It is already paid for and I don't have monthly charges to use it. And it actually works.

I don't have a monthly charge for it, and my gps works amazing on my touch pro so im sorry you have crappy 3g coverage for your telenav to run poorly.

Get over yourself, didn't know that you were only allowed to post on this forums if you have t-mobile. 🙄

And yes there are people who actually use gps and watch tv on there phones, just ask someone who travels across the US. Ohhh wait you cant ask anyone with t-mobile because you have 3g in like 20 cities.

P.S. i own 2 phones touch pro on sprint and a venus on verizon. So sprint fanboy branding is not correct.

Doesn't matter fan boy or not. Obviously your phone is lacking in one way or another if you need 2 different phones with 2 different provider. Either that or you're a moron. You can pick. Most people, I'd say 90%+ ( my guess) don't use GPS or TV on their phone. Regardless if you are traveling or not. Most people use their phone to make calls/send text messages. Some people use the Internet or email/business. A VERY VERY small percentage use anything else. Look around do your research. You'll see that you are in the minority on this one. And yet for some reason you are posting this sprint garbage in a tmo forum. Why aren't you over with the rest of the Zack Morris tools in the sprint forum trolling there? Not cool enough? Or do you want to be...

PS. I never said i wasn't the minority, i said there is no way only 1% of cell users care about having gps and tv. If the percentage was that small companies wouldn't poor so much money into that type of service. And please take the foot out of your mouth telling me to do research when this coming out of your own mouth.

Your battle between the two of you is maybe a difference of markets. I am in agreement that a very small handful of people are actually interested in live GPS that TeleNav offers because either A. their car gives it to them for free or B. they already have their own handheld GPS. And as far as TV, same thing, for this area most people don't care about or would use it.

I'd say about 80% of the people want "just a phone". That percentage is slowly going down and people are finally starting to realize the potential of having more features. Problem is they don't want to pay for them. Why do you think when we get phones over here they are usually a down grade to their European counter parts.

That's a more logical number and common sense.

How can you say a UNLIMITED MIN PLAN SUCKS? It's unlimited...IT's the same prices as a 1000 min plan. How can you go wrong? Sounds like you couldn't qualify probably poor credit or you are a fan boy trolling. Have fun paying 2 times the amount everywhere else.

There are no catches, or downsides. It is unlimited minutes for $49.99/mo nationwide. It is a loyalty plan, so you must be on a postpaid plan for longer than 22 months to qualify. It does not include texting or internet, so she'll have to add that to the plan if she uses that.
