Coverage in Central Illinois and Rural Areas

I was wondering if anyone knows what coverage is like in east central Illinois? My brother has Tmobile in Chicago and he has no problems...he loves it. I have a different carrier and I am sick of the high prices and spotty service. How is Tmobile in rural areas? Are there plans for Tmobile to get more coverage? The coverage map on TM site is really hard to figure out where is good coverage. Thanks in advance

Thank you for the information. I found a guy at work that just got service with TM and got the sidekick and he could not keep a signal inside the building and he said that inside his house he has no signal either....with my celli being my only phone....I HAVE to have signal. But that you for your time.

If you dont mind me asking, who is your carrier now? I was also thinking about trying out T-Mobile but then I saw the coverage map and it is crazy that service would be very spotty!!!! I currently have at&t and have been getting alot of dropped calls and the call quality seems to be going down hill...

My current carrier is Verizon and has been for many years and I really do dig their service for the most part. The customer service I have received is outstanding and that is both in the corporate store and when phoning in to the 800 #. My service had been great up until about 3-4 months ago. I only have a cell phone...no landline...so I have to be able to use it. And I have been having trouble with service in my house in my house....to the point where sometimes I have to try numerous times to even get the damn call to connect. I have no problem in the 61820 area but I can't get a very good signal in my house and other buildings. Since TM seems to be very sketchy service in non big cities....I guess I will try a different phone for Veri...

Alot of people tell me to try different phones and sometimes it actually helps. I am not sure if I will stay with at&t or what.... Use to have sprint....And I must admit, they were not that bad...lol

well i know when you look at our coverage map that things look spotty. part of the reason for that is we show what should be expected as far as exact bars. on verizons web site when you check there coverage map it just shows one color and that you should have service but it doesnt show what kind of service. Its the same color on their map weather you have one bar or 5 bars so you dont know what to expect. we will show exacty what you should get. so its kind of misleading on verizons part.

I understand TM coverage map and I think that is a great idea...it just leaves me concerned that my home is in an area that gets like 1-2 bars...so mostly likely that means no service in the house...I am not going to pay ETF with current provider to go from bad to worse...if ya know what I mean. and I commend TM for being honest about their coverage....I just have to be able to talk on the phone in my house...my celli is my only phone 😁

T-Mobile is honest when it comes to service. If you want to eliminate the dead zone problem in your house, add the Unlimited at Home with a Curve and get high speed wireless in your home and unlimited calling. For $10 bucks a month, you cant beat it. I live in Heyworth and my house is a dead zone so I got the router and its like having a tower in your home.

To have a Blackberry and get Myfaves, internet, home calling, and messaging for under 100 a month, you cant beat that. Anywhere.

I lived in an area with 1-2 bars of service and i got 3-4 usually but i currently live in tampa where the maps ays 1-2 bars and they are right! Sometimes they are accurate, sometimes they are not. A phone with good reception will help though. Nokia, sony ericsson, etc usually have good reception.
