T-Mobile and Circuit City

Anyone out there who works for either circuit city or t-mobile know why they are parting ways? It is supposed to be final September 6th or 7th. Much Drama, if you are out there, being a fellow circuit city employee, i wanted to see if you had any insights to this. Anyone who might know, feel free to explain why, if you know, or just add your thoughts about this situation.

might have somthing to do with the cingular merger with AT&T. If Circut city sells AT&T also, then their's your ansewer, T-mobile is a direct competitor with Cingular and wont allow stores to sell both... so they pull out

But if your store dosen't sell AT&T then im not sure why...

Unfortunately we don't sell At&t or Cingular. We used to sell them along with t-mobile and sprint. Circuit city changed to t-mobile and Verizon a year ago, so I'm not sure what's going on. I hear rumors that we will be getting Sprint back to compete with Verizon, but I'm also hearing we will just go with Verizon. So much for choice if that's true.

I was told by my regional manager that it was about a bidding deal between T-Mobile and Verizon, CC wanted to just sell ONE soul provider at their stores, T-Mobile declined to even bid for it. I guess its strategic reasons. They only really know why.

So then I suppose the next move is that they're ONLY going to sell Toshiba TVs and Sony sound systems and Handspring PDAs... 🙄 Please, a big box store intentionally limiting competition? How much sense does THAT make?
