Been With Tmobile 3 years. How do I get a quality, free phone?

retrobeast

I do not want to give up my plan. Am currently going month to month.
I call Tmobile and get these so called great deals for being a loyal customer.
I want more! I want a choice of a phone I can get for free by just signing up for another 2 years.
I am paying over $500 every year and deserve a free phone just like the new subscribers.
How do I / we do this?
Will even settle for a Moto 195.
thanks

I would think you should be able to get a free phone.

If you are not able to then maybe you should consider switching to a carrier that will give you a free phone every 2 years.

Verizon Wireless has the new every two program, every 22 months you can up to 100$ off any phone you want with a new 2 year contract.

depends on your price plan how much you get but at minimum you get 50$ off. meaning even if you just got 50 right now the razr v3m in silver and black is 99.99 with a 50$ mail in rebate = free.

T-Mobile also has new customer pricing for being on a plan for 22 months as well.

ya im not saying you should switch to verizon wireless im just saying that if Tmobile wont give you a good phone for free after you have been a loyal customer then you should probably switch. VZW would give you a free phone every 22 months and a nice one at that. also they have a supperior network, and equally good customer care.

Who says the network is superior??? The TV???

JD Powers begs to differ.

Explain to me how $99 minus a $50 mail in rebate = Free ๐Ÿคจ And Verizon gives you $100 off of the MSRP, not their in store price. Get your Verizon garbage out of this forum.

Sure, that makes lots of sense. Keep switching carriers every two years for one that you don't know how it performs. You're going to have to commit to another contract no matter what you do. Think carefully before you start changing carriers like you do underwear.

Right now you are probably eligible for same as new customer pricing or better. The problem is that most of the phones available for free on the website are not available on the phone through customer care upgrades. Don't ask me why. But if you go to your local T-Mobile store and check if they have the Samsung T609 or Motorola PEBL you may be able to snag one of those for free. Other than that, you would be able to get any of the phones available on the website for the same price a new customer can. Bear in mind though, that new customers also pay a $35 activation fee, which you won't have to, so you're getting the phone basically $35 cheaper than a new customer would.

Of course, you can always call customer care at 611 and explaining you...

Yes I have run across that problem already. Website has deals then you call and they do not have any deals. I think I will try the route of going right to a Tmobile dealer to see what they can do.
Just want a high review basic phone. Don't care about the camera or mp3. I want reception and battery life.

Honey, If you want a basic high review phone go with the Nokia 6030. It is one of their highest rated phones on the market right now. It even scored better than my 6200, which I do highly reccomend. I got mine off of Ebay for 30 dollars after shipping costs and it works great for me.

Nice try.

$500 a year is about $41 a month. You're not paying a lot. If you think that's a lot, stop using cell phones.

But since Cell Phone companies are so stupid, just call and threaten to cancel because Cingular or whoever is giving you a better deal and you don't see why people who aren't loyal should be rewarded.

Well its alot when I am only using 300 minutes a month. I know Tmobile does not get it all but my total bill is just over $50. When you add those numbers up that is a big chunk of change.
I'm just saying that if someone it getting that much money from you a year then they should provide the piece of equipment making them that cash.

Nov 11, 2006, 12:29 PM
But how much do you think that piece of equipment actually costs? It's way more costly than you think.

And that is why I do not want anything fancy just that basic phone so I can talk and Tmobile can make their money.
If I cannot make the phone last 2 years then it is me who must flip the bill for a needed phone. But if 2 years go by and I am ready to resign up then my reward is the new phone.
I am not going to walk away from Tmobile if I have to pay something, I just don't want to be paying over the cost of that $35 activation fee.

Most online specials are not available through the upgrade program, for reasons I have been unable to discover. The only way to try to get them is through T-Mobile direct stores which still have the phone in stock.

I don't think Tmobile phones costs Tmobile that much. For example, if you want a Nokia 6030 then go buy one at Wal-Mart or Target for $39.99 and put your sim card in it. You don't have to sign a contract or renew your commitment to Tmobile at all. You can also go buy a Motorola V360 for Tmobile at Motorola's website for $109, so I'm pretty sure Tmobile is getting them cheaper than that.

If you want a free phone, then the Nokia 6030 is perfect. Oh, you want feautres? You want Bluetooth, Mp3 Player, high quality camera, video recorder, and a large High resolution screen?! Well then you will have to PAY for it. Those high feature phone COST money to make, and they are not cheap. If you want free then you will get free, but you will get a basic phone with none of the extra frills.

Why is everybody complaining about a free phone with a contract the free phone is not that great of a phone.Customers expect something for free all the time you have to sign a contract with direct TV do you expect a free tv. NO!! You spend 500.00 a year thats a low end rate plan of 40.00 a month thats nothing i know employees that spend more than that even with a discount. Please get over yourself

the profit margins from a wireless company are amazing. cost of talking and cost of sending messages for them is less than 10% of what we pay. the no contract price of phones, is not the retail price for the phones, the phones actually cost 70 dollars less than they advertise. a razr does not cost $229. point is they are making money off of us. if they can't offer me the same deals that they are offering new customers than whats the point.
