Hi everyone I have a Treo 650(unlocked) that I use with my T-mobile account. Is there any way for me to install the myfaves software on it? If not, will it be possible in the near future or should I replace the best phone/PDA I've ever owned with the Pearl?

Get the Pearl. It's better than the Treo 650.

thanks, I still want to know if it is possible in the near future for tmobile to make a java based or someversion of the "myfaves" for me to install and use on the treo 650? also, i've never used a pearl, so can someone tell me how it is better, or worse than the treo? and finally is it possible to get a myfaves phone just to be able to get on the plan and than put that sim card i n my treo?

If you put a sim card on a MyFaves plan in a Treo, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the full benefits of the plan. The point of it is to be able to call or message your 5 favorites right from the main screen. There wouldn't be a software update possible to install because that would mean T-Mobile would lose money on this and they've invested a lot of money into this and have to be able to make some kind of return on that investment.

I don't think what you are saying about T-mobile losing money is true, because they are charging 10 dollars more a month for the faves plan. And I am willing to pay for that but what I don't want to do is go and pay another 300 dollars to get the phone since I paid that much for the phone that I have... So if anyone has tried to put their sim card into a non-faves phone and call their "5" numbers and not get charged? does it work? thanks for any feedbacks

I didn't say it wouldn't work on a regular handset. I said you wouldn't enjoy all of the benefits of that rate plan. It'll work on a regular handset but T-Mobile isn't going to change your rate plan unless you have one. And T-Mobile will lose money it. Think about it like this. Let's say you don't buy the handset and you're able to change the rate plan, that's a 12 month contract extension so 12 months of guaranteed service for T-Mobile to provide and you to pay for. Compare that to someone buying a discounted handset with a 24 month contract extension? Huge difference in service provided to the customer and money paid for that service plus the profit from selling the phone albeit at a discounted rate. I'm sure you could get a new ph...
