Why is Cingular not using V600

I was wondering why Cingular said that motorola recalled all their v600 phones, but tmobile is still selling the phone?

It is most likely sofware related. That is why it took us so lonng for T-Mobile to get it. T-Mobile was going to release the V600 earlier in the year but still encountered issues. AT&T and Cingular both have had serious issues. A big race in the wireless industry is to have the best, coolest, and newest phone ASAP. If anyone remembers when the V300 was first launched many handsets went back to motorola. The T720 was also a perfect example. Motorola has a reputation for software related issues and in some cases questionable quality. It has to do with the race with time vs. technology, Motorola has made pretty extreme steps too fast and with a lot of preassure. I read somewhere that Samsung is about to edge Motorola out of the number 2 spot for wireless phone makers.

I am glad we didn't rush to release it (shows that we learned our lesson from the V300). I have sold quite a few V600s and I have yet to have customers come in with issues. I was told by our Motorola rep that we have the most stable version of the phone. So I am pretty confident in the V600 at this point.

I went from the V300 to the V600 and it seems that the little things the bugged me are fixed. Wait till fourth quarter lets see who wins. I still have faith in the Moto.

It was not directly software related, it was RF related. The v600 had troubles with the 850 MHz GSM band, something that will not affect T-Mobile because T-Mo HAS no 850 MHz... too limited.

I've been using a T-Mobile V600 now for about 48 hours, and so far I'm really impressed. It does work very well, and the sound quality is excellent. It also syncs up nicely with my Bluetooth speakerphone. I'm most impressed by the camera's ability to take a good picture in low light. It's a better quality camera than most phones have.
