V600 upgrade
I've been with T-mobile 22 months, and called about an upgrade from my v60g, to the v600, and they told me the phone would be $349.00, with my current plan. T-mobile web site has it at $299.00, and now Amazon has it for $99.00 after rebate and one year contract with T-mobile, and your plan can be as low as $29.99 to get it at that price. So why would it cost me $349.00??? I love my current cell, and love my service through T-mobile. I have the "Talk and Text" plan for $29.99 (which is not available anymore). I used to have Sprint because i got a 20% discount through my employer, but the phones service was terrible in my neighborhood, and switched to T-mobile in Oct 2002. I was in the exact same situation couple of weeks ago (I actually wanted the v300 to replace my r225). I was on that 29.99 plan with free text messages since Aug 2002. I called them and theatned to switch if they weren't able to give a good price on the phone. They couldn't match the price that new customers get through the website even after talking with the retention specialist. The reason I recieved was that I don't make enough money b/c my plan is so cheap! Well apperantly ATT found a way to make money off of me while giving me the phone for $75. I really wanted to stay with TMO but their upgrade policy is ridiculous.
