AH! To qualify myself as a valid T-Mobile complainer, I sold em, had em, and have seen the best and worst of em.
Plain and Simple: 2nd Rate Company. Prices are the best because they do not pay enough to employees, nor do they really take care of their customers.
Coverage:
Less than undesireable. I travel all over the United States, and I was only dissapointed with my service. If was to run into trouble, I know that I couldnt count on my T-MOBILE phone.
Phones:
Not too bad actually, a little slow on picking up the newest and hottest. Sidekick was a great idea if it would work the way it was suppose to.
Prices:
The best. Although a smart consumer knows that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. In this case, too good...

I had both T-mobile and Cingular, i gatta say cingular is the best of both in my opinion, think of it this way if you think your saving money, unless you use every single minute your paying for, than your not saving money with t-mobile. They're minutes don't roll-over, they're nights and weekends won't start at 7pm, they're coverage is smaller, they're plans may be cheaper, though some like the 29.99 for 1000 minutes don't include m2m or unlimited n&w, and they still have some regional plans (so they can still charge roaming?)
On the flip side, i haven't trouble calling customer service, same with t-mobile & cingular (you always have the chance to either get someone who knows what they're doing or a complete idiot)
...
i have to agree w/ u and w/ customer support on cingular, its not bad like people describe it, i never had long hold times, well once, and the reps knew what they were doing and i got the service i needed. sometimes i dont even believe these horror stories as far as customer service, imo cingy's cust service is good, im not always in a situation that i need to call them all the time, cingy gives me more choices but they are NOT perfect either
...
I had T-Mobile pre-paid, once I left the city the service died. I then went with Cingular pre-paid I had coverage wherever I went. They charged 25 cents a minute, T-M charged 10 cents a minute. Money not being the problem I gave up my T-M service, and I haven't had any problems with Cingular service.
...
I had the Pick Your Plan when i had the go phone, i like the rates and the fact of not buying phones, and unlimited nights and weekends was awesome too

I am a T-Mobile customer and have been for a few years. I have not had any problems with them. Their coverage has improved dramatically over the past few years and is very much comparable to Cinguar's coverage, as my work is through Cingular. Cingular's customer service has improve significantly in the past year, so I can say that they are not that bad anymore, but they used to be terrible. T-Mobile's customer service has always been excellent. In my opinion, the main diference between Cingular and T-Mobile is the pricing. T-Mobile's pricing is much better for both National and International travel. I ues T-Mobile for my personal phone by choice, because the overall value I get with T-Mobile is much higher than any other carrier.

I am a t-mobile customer as well, I have had their service for three years with no problems. Coverage is great everywhere I go here in Oklahoma. I had Cingular and even worked for them for three years untill they let me go for bullshit. Both are great cell phone providers.
...
i won't necessarily dispute what smartsprint said, but i will point out one thing he left off where t-mobile wins hands down : international roaming. if you leave the country alot (as i often do) you'll find that t-mobile offers the best deals on using your phone overseas. not only are they gsm, so you can use your number practically anywhere, but their rates are significantly lower than cingular's in my experience.
as far as your experience with carriers here in the states, i leave that for you, the forum members, to debate.

Someone has an agenda.

I use T-Mobile To-Go in Chicago and I have never had any complaints.
I did use Cingular's Go Phone service, but they did not have as much coverage in Chicago as T-Mobile, plus thier prepaid rates were much more expensive, so I ended up returning to T-Mobile To-Go. I use the Nokia 6010, which is an outstanding piece of equipment: reliale, hearty, great signal, and many many features for a low-end handset.
I despise contracts, so I go the prepaid route.

Everyone is going to have complaints and praises for the different services, it all depends on where you live and what you use the service for. Internationally, T-Mob is the way to go.
T-Mob does have certain advantages that other companies don't have, such as Kid Connect and a $29.99 300 minute plan. Can't beat those; the older folks usually go for the 29.99 plan.
As far at a network goes, I think Cingy's is better in the Philadelphia area. But like I said, it all depends on where you live.
...
Wow, I'd love to comment on everything you said but, I'll keep it short
Tmobile pays their employees very well and the benefits are great. If you worked for tmobile and you didn't get paid a decent rate, it probably had something to do with your performance and that could be a reason as to why you don't work there anymore.
Tmobile takes very good care of all customers internally and externally.
As far as being a 2nd rate company I think you need to go to jdpower.com and read who the CONSUMERS voted to be #1..go ahead count the awards.
It's not too good to be true, their coverage, phones, customer service and price..you pay less than what you get. Have you heard of "Get More". You do.

You probably don't want to bash T-Mobile when you have the word "Sprint" in your name

Oh, that's not a deterrent. We've had people with Nextel and cingular in their names before.

it really depends on where you live. Some citys/states are not pro t-mobile but if it works for you where you go t-mobile is the best. i have to admit coverage is not the best but it does cover 90% of the US population which is pretty much most major citys/interstates/highways. now the goal for t-mobile is not mostly customer based. its about service (customer care, great rates). now i know that their nights don't start at 7 but ask yourself how many minutes do you usally have left at the end of the month? if you talk alot quit being cheap and upgrade to a higher plan; don't pay more money for 2 extra hours at night when you usally don't need it. no roll over; why get a plan that you are not going to utalize and have them roll over? you might...

I'm sure you were just a retail rep so it would be more accurate to say that you believe Tmobile doesn't pay their retail reps fairly. I was a call center rep for 5yrs and I can gurantee you that I was compensated very nicly for my job with my hourly wages and incentives.
As far as coverage I'll tell you like I tell everyone else. Unless you live and travel to EVERY city Tmobile covers you only have first knowledge about where you use your service. To imply anything else is an outright lie. I live in KCMO and travel between Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri more often than I would like and I get service dang near EVERYWHERE I go even in my car.
Everyone should stop with the exagerations, every provider has issues, that's why there are so man...

Everyone has had good and bad experiences with every company. I had sprint and I thought they were crap but my friend loved them. I also had cingular. I never had any problems with them other then some coverage issues BUT i had an older phone so i know why.
As for T-mobile pay.....it's not the greatest. We're the lowest paid reps in the industry. Commission isn't bad but hourly sucks.

I've had T-mobile for a couple of years, i absolutely HATED they're service in my house, if i stand on 1 spot on my room i get a bar, if i turn my head, no bars and drop calls. Customer service was decent, and the prices aren't bad, but i just switched over to cingular, I can actually call people!.

Sounds like the service my husband had in our home when HE had Cingular for work. 🤣

All i have to say is if you belive this guy.... i pitty you.. T-Mobile is the only company that does street level coverage checks,
