Will Tmobile match rate plans?

jmallx

Jul 14, 2006, 4:45 PM
Due to a new job that I'm getting I will have access to a better rate plan with another carrier.

We have 3 phones on a family plan and 2K minutes (phones are in wife's name).

However with an employer discount it will be cheaper to go with Sprint.

Our one year contract will be up next month (August).

I'm just wondering if Tmobile matches rate plans is all.

Thanks

I've never heard of anyone matching rate plans

Rate plans are company specific...that would be like wanting to get a rollover plan with Cingular put onto any other carrier, there is no way to do that

Ok, maybe I should have said this.

Will Tmobile offer a better rate plan if we try to switch/cancel?

I don't work for T-mob, but I do work for Sprint...and we have a retention dept that specializes in getting existing customers the best deals possible if they're looking to cancel. I'm assuming T-mob has something along these lines (not positive of course) but usually there is something that can be done.

TMobile does have a retention dept that specializes in offers that are not available to reg csrs but they are limited in what they can offer as well. You maybe able to get something with a little more mins but don't expect a uniquie plan made to your specifications. They do not have the ability to create plans or give you anything that has not already been created by the marketing dept. Keep in mind what you are offered is dependent on your acct history which includes but not limited to payment history, tenure, current plan, any other "special offers" you may have been given, useage history and your willingness to renew your contract. Contract renewal is almost required inorder to recieve ANY retention offer. Hopes this helps

I think T-Mobile does offer corporate discounts, but you have to ask for it,, they don't advertise it,, I have a friend who gets a discount because he works for a "qualifying" corporation,, I'm not sure of the department you have to ask for ,, maybe ask for a supervisor if the customer service rep doesn't know,,

You have to ask for an MCSA discount. It stands for Master Corporate Service Agreement. There are hundreds of companies whose employees qualify for discounts with T-Mobile. As an example, I think Ford or Chevy employees qualify for a discount. In exchange, we qualify for a discount if we want to buy a car. There are a lot of companies that do that kind of stuff for each other.

The info you have given to this person is completely off base so please stop answering if you don't have the facts. Customer service doesn't have a number to customer relations cause the number is not published. Also he doesn't need to talk to a supervisor to get that info he can get it online. if you are just a customer don't try to answer questions only employees would know. That creates confusion for those trying to get accurate info.

I am NOT giving "homeslice" information that is completely off base. I am giving "homeslice" information based on my personal experience. Customer service does have the number to customer relations because customer service has given it to me in the past and I have dealt with customer relations and they are very kind and do their very best to do everything to help the "just customers" . I just don't know where I put the number ,, or else I woudl give it to "homeslice" myself. ,, and yes I am a cutomer and a person. NOT JUST a customer as you so kindly put it. "Homeslice" really wants to become a T-Mobile customer and really wants to get a price at least comprable to what he already has with a different carrier. I am trying to help him. I sure...

Just ask customer care to give to you the direct number to the corporate customer care office in New Mexico,, I don't have the number off hand,, otherwise I would give it to you,, but I got it from them a long time ago, so I know that they have it,,

I have worked for T-Mobile since 2001 and there is no direct number to the customer relations. But it isn't even necessary. The rate plans available are online or he can call Customer Care. If a representative gave it to you, it's because that particular rep happened to know it. It does not mean that it's general knowledge. I have worked in many different call centers for many companies and none of them had a direct number to a corporate office. They don't give that information to reps.

no they will not match rate plans since you are not asking them to you are asking them to match your employee discount but be ware the rate plan for t-mobile to get 2000 minutes on a fam plan is much better then sprints so if you add in the customer service aspect retail and call center you are probably still better off sticking with your t-mobile 😎

Did you call cust care and ask them to pull up the MCSA list? Use that name specifically and that should trigger the rep to put that in the search engine which will help an unexperienced rep to find the info.

They should know, I have no idea why you would have been trans to the business dept when I worked as a CSR the info was readily available to answer general questions. Of course I couldn't start an acct but just anwering if you can or cannot get a dicount and how much it is should be easily answerd. Who do you work for? I'll call get the answer for you and post it.

I work for a huge supermarket chain. My company is Tops Markets. It is owned by Giant Foods which is owned by AHOLD. So either of those names should get me a discount. I also work for the Lockport City School District in Lockport New York...but my discount now is through the supermarket chain i work for...Tops,Giant, and or Ahold.

I've called to see if I can get a corporate discount as well and they tell me to go the website but I can't fill out the request due to my employer doesn't supply with company domain emails.

Any help finding out if USPS is on the list? There are 1000's of hoping for the best since all the other providers are listed.

Thanks!

If by chance you can get some info from her I'd really appreciate it! 😉

We've gone through several HR employees and we're lucky they remember to enter our work hours to the main HR dept so we get paid. I guess it doesn't help that the head guy is at another plant in another state either. đŸ˜ŗ

Thanks either way! 😁
