if you purchase through tmobile it will have the 1 year warranty & you can add insurance
If you buy it through a third-party new it will also have a one year warranty and you can insure it with your renter's or homeownever's insurance for a whole lot less than what the companies like
Asurion charge (like $5 per year with no deductable.)

Acctually the 8801 has a two year warranty and assurion doesnt affect your claim toward something actually important like your house burning down and you having used up your claims on a cell phone.
But Assurion charges you a $50 deductible. An endorsement on your main policy has no deductible.
I'm not sure about this. I know one of the selling points t-mobile is pushing is the support from nokia for this phone which leads me to believe t-mobile is not going to support it.
