Optional additional minutes Question

Hey everyone - I have a favor to ask the group. I know your immediate response is going to be "well it all depends on your usage, but with the obvious answer aside, I need everyone to think a minute and give me your opinion other than the obvious. Here is my situation: I am on the 1500 minutes a month flat plan for $39.99 with no nights and weekends. I have had an increase in my talk habbits within the last 3 months or so. I am also in a job for the Summer which requires travel and a lot of phone calls while on the road. I don't think the 1500 minutes a month plan is enough and I do not want to spend an extra $10 a month to upgrade to unlimited nights and weekends and extend my plan an additional year because I just recently did that to get...

You do realize that 1500 minutes is 30 hours of calls I hope. Don't you get tired talking all the time? 🙂

I don't *care* if it's for business. It's still a lot of time on the phone.

FuzzBear-islander37 is right. He did not ask about talk time. Alot of people talk more than 1500 minutes and who cares. He asked a different question. You FANBOYS crack me up 😁

I would honestly suggest just paying the extra 10 bucks a month. Ignore fuzz....he's a troll. It is very easy to use 1500 minutes, especially when you take into account the fact that even if you are on the phone for 3 seconds, it counts as a minute. You will be happy with the 10 more dollars and in the long run you will save money. Think about being able to talk all weekend long without it coming out of your minutes. It's a nice freedom.

I agree with you. He should pay the extra $10.

I choose option 2 but I think you will end up using up all your minutes and you don't have the free weekends.

I think you just have to pay the extra $10 and sign up for an extra year.

thanks guys - I truly appreciate your input. I have to see what is best at this point. My usage might go down toward the end of Summer which is why I am hesitant in commiting to the extra $10 a month and increasing the plan another year. I too agree with you secrecyguy that option 2 looks to be my best bet at this point not knowing how my usage will fall. Again, thanks for the input!!

I don't know if you realize this, but the 1500 min with free night and weekend for 49.99 expired. It's $59.99 now, so it would run you an additional $20 a month, not $10. Increasing your plan $10 would get you back to your old plan of 49.99 for 1000 min with free night and weekend. I was unaware you could add the 4.99 for free nights to that plan, but if they let you, that is probably what I would do and then keep a close eye on how many minutes you use.

Go to the N/W 59.99 plan and spend the ten bucks. This gives you ten hours per night x 5 nights a week = 3000 potential mins to use per week, plus two free days, 1440 mins/day x 2 = 2880 potential mins to use per week. So for ten bucks you get almost another 6K minutes when you could be talking on the phone. Seems like a no brainer to me, YMMV. 😉

If it's $59.99, it's $20.00 extra per month like the previous guy said. Not $10.00. I thought that the $39.99 1500 minute rate plan didn't have the option to add nights at all. I would double check that but I could easily be wrong. I'm not current on the rate plans anymore since I don't work in call center that handles that anymore.

It's not adding the nights and weekends, it's a separate plan with nights and weekends--and yes it is twenty bucks higher, my bad. Still, better deal all around if he's pushing the 1500 right now... or go to the 1000 N/W which IS 49.99 and only a ten buck change upwards, it'll depend on the number of PK minutes per month currently being used. Without doing an analysis of the usage I can't make a completely informed recommendation... 😉
