$29.99 plan. Upgrade?

Anxiovert

Ok, my T-Mobile contract expires in Aug. I use this phone as my landline. I have the $29.99 plan; will T-Mo let me get a discounted price on a phone upgrade in Aug? I know it's a cheap plan, but like I said this is my landline and I don't use it that much, so this plan fits me just right. If I decide to upgrade with T-Mo. Will they make me go to a higher plan? or extend for 2 yrs? I had a 1 yr contract to begin with...
Thanks!

I believe you'll have to do a 2 year contract to get a discount because you're not on a qualifying rate plan of $39.99 or higher. Just as a suggestion, you can get equipment protection to protect yourself after the warranty expires.

Insurance can only be added 14 days after a purchase of a new phone from tmobile. Doesn't matter what your contract is doing or what your account type is.

You can upgrade your phone in aug 7 you are more than likely eligible for a discount. You can get a 1 year contract at a tmobile store or through customer service. A 2 year contract would cause the phone to be cheaper though but its your choice.

You can also keep your rate plan you don't have to change if you don't want to 🙂

Just go to either walmart or target and buy a prepaid Tmobile phone. Right now at target I know you can get a Nokia 6010 for around $35, a Samsung X495 for $79, or if you wait for them to go on sale a Nokia 6101 for $88. It saves you from having to renew a contract and if something goes wrong with the phone within a year Tmobile will do a phone exchange or at least thats what they did for me.

Here's an idea for you switch to VZW on there #34.99 300min pk unlimited n&w and nationwide coverage no roam or long distance charges within the 50 us states, & puerto rico & vzw won't bitch about you not having a high enough plan when you want to upgrade. the $34.99 is an unadvertised plan that is available by request.
