Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time T-Mobile was a company that changed and or offered new, modern and useful telephones to its clients on a regular basis.

Since Cingular and others have gone mostly to GSM, T-Mobile's telephone selection has not changed in almost a year.

I ask those that know...why?

I agree totally! And I have not seen a T-Mobile ad in the New Orleans newspaper in months. What's going on? Cingular, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and Alltell advertise every week!

See my post below on "Moto V525 and myworldphone.com"

I am fed up with waiting for any cool phones from T-Mo.

Cingular and AT&T both have more feature-laden phones than T-Mo.

And even T-Mobile-Germany, the Father Company, has a better selection of phones than T-Mo U.S.A.

I'm fed up and I'm going to order an unlocked phone from a Web Vendor post haste.

I hope others do so as well. Maybe T-Mo will get the message ---- We're tired of waiting for decent, modern phones!!!

Unfortunately for you, you're wrong. New phones out within the last 6 months: Nokia-6010; Nokia-6600; Motorola-V300; Samsung-E105; Samsung-E715. New phones to be released within the next month: Nokia-6800; Motorola-V600; Samsung-D415 (Slider); Siemens CF62T; Sony-Ericsson GC79 GPRS/Wi-Fi PC Card. Wow...what a long list of new and useful phones T-Mobile has already put out and are soon to put out, again within the last 6 months... No new phones in almost a year? Check your calendar again. 😈

whatever happened to just being content with a phone that does what you want it to do: make and receive calls. What's the point of a camera phone or even a video phone? Especially how right now the quality on many camera/video phones really suck. What's so hard with just carrying a camera with you to wherever you go?

Then again, it's just kinda like guys and cars, eh? A car that's reliable and does its job is not wanted... instead a fast, good-looking car, who knows how long it'll last is preferred.

Why do you assume I'm interested in a camera or video? The Moto V525 does not have the video function of the V600-I could care less about it. The same goes for the camera. If I want to take...

I also understand that bluetooth is a great sell except some people just don't need it. Not even directed at you. And I do believe that T-Mo will have to come up with something to stand their ground against the merger. Good thing for them is that some people wouldn't even touch either company now that they are merging. T-Mo takes so long to come out with new phones because there's a more rigorous process when it comes to lettin a phone pass. The phone HAS to be tested to ensure that the bugs in it is non-existant or minimal. I'll settle for that rather than a new, hip, cool phone with tons of bugs anyday.

You two keep ripping the V300, and I hear stories about people who are on their fourth exchange and whatnot, but all of this really confuses me. I had one for a couple months and it worked flawlessly (no leaking lubricant or anything). I've sold a TON of them, and not one has come back defective! Also, there is a new software version out now that should have solved any existing bugs. I wonder if some of you that work for high volume places got a huge stockpile of glitchy first run phones, and are still trying to sell through them.... (Drama, that means you.) Like I said, everybody that I've sold them to who comes back in for something else really likes them. 😕

We just got new v300 and we haven't sold one yet. We get more returns on the sony ericsson t610 anyway but my dad has that it never has had problems. So who knows? Phones will always have some sort of problem anyway

People get tricked into thinking the T610 has really bad reception, when actually it only has KIND OF bad reception. That's the thanks Sony Ericsson gets for putting an accurate signal indicator in their phone. I bet you people return that phone because of signal problems all the time simply because it looks like it has poor reception. I bet if they actually tried calling with one or no bars they'd be surprised how good it sounded.

even w/ one or two bars, this woman returned it cuz she couldn't hear crap and it just drops her calls after awhile.

That's absolutely correct. I've used a t610 with NO bars and enjoyed a perfectly coherent coversation. SE gets a bad rap for putting accurate signal indicators on their phones.

She thinks it's entirely sufficient for her needs. It's compact, it works well here on T-Mobile USA and it works well on T-Mobile Deutschland whe we go home to visit her parents

To address YOUR comment about T-Mobile advertising... uhh in the Houston Market, there have been plenty of radio, television and weekly (sunday) newspaper ads running the FamilyTime plans and the Get More 1000 for 39.99.

I am soooo sorry that you do not see us in your local paper. I don't believe we are lagging behind any carrier. T-Mobile has improved their testing so you won't see phones just come out ASAP (look at the crappy moto V66 (I see that phone return in my store ALL OF THE TIME, etc that has come out with numerous problems).

In the last couple of months, T-Mobile has released the Nokia 6010, Nokia 6600 and soon to be released Siemens CF63 (or something), Motorola V600, Nokia...

Hey Starr... I'm just starting to sell ATTWS in my store alongside T-Mobile, and to be honest I think it's time for T-Mobile to step it up once again. They need to start offering something above and beyond the competition like they used to. I think the recent J.D. Power report is a big shot in the arm, and although their network lags behind other GSM carriers in quantity of coverage, I don't think that anybody compares in terms of quality of coverage. Unfortunately, when a customer is standing there in the store comparing, it is price plans first and foremost that people are looking at, and especially family plans. For $69 a month, from T-Mobile I can get 800 minutes, free N&W, free mobile to mobile, and 9 p.m. nights on two lines. With...

Like I said, T-Mobile has their own agenda and goals right now. I prefer the "wait and see" attitude for now than the "do and flop". I'll quote my regional manager "There will be a lot of exciting new things coming our (T-Mobile) way." I asked what he meant, he winked at me and said "In due time, you will know."

So who knows. I'll continue to sell our product. I'm hyped about the new phones (yes just like the customers, I'm a bit bored with the selection right now)

All in due time, I feel as a T-Mobile employee that we aren't obiligated to be at the same speed in releasing phones as the others.

We have our own agenda/goals just like the competition. This year we have done excellent in adding customer base and expanding our network so far.

*Waves back!* I think the disdain for the v66 may have been due to the phone not having a color screen or many features. It's actually not that bad of a ...

I sell T-Mobile too... and I didn't say anything about T-Mobile's advertising. I still see those Catherine Zeta-Jones commercial on TV. I know that T-Mobile's taking longer to come out with phones because of the testing process. I've been stating this in some other posts too. So don't mistaken me as a complainer... I even said that I'd rather have a phone that works and does its work and isn't as cool as opposed to one that has all these features but tons of bugs in it.
