Is T-Mobile's coverage that bad?

I can tell you of T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon T-Mobile is the only on to get signal at my parents house in the middle of no where on Lake Superior an hour north of Duluth. But Verizon is the only one that gets signal in the town by their house.
Verizon doesn't have unlimited txt (yet) but the have unlimited IN TXT/PIX/FLX on plans ranging from $10-$20 per month and 500-2500 out msgs respectively. Right now T-Mo's unlimited text is $14.99 per month.
I honestly don't know if I get charged for roaming on T-Mo but I know VZW doesn't. VZW has other features that T-Mo doesn't (VCast, Music Store, VZ Navigator {on select phones) but if you don't plan to use them that doesn't matter.
I would suggest...

Also tmobile does not charge you for roaming even if you are transmitting on a roaming tower.

T-mo's coverage is weak in comparasion to VZW. You should listen to people that are telling you T-mo's coverage is poor because i'm assuming they use it in the same area you would. The CDMA carriers seem to have much better coverage in most areas, but T-mo is normally the cheapest (because they have to be).
noob, shut up verizon fan boy.. GSM RULES

Yeah, you're right. Let's tell this person to sign up for t-mo when the service blows like you. GSM is no comparasion to CDMA. I'll take any CDMA carrier over GSM. I'm old fashion, I want service that works.
PS - You're a douche.

Use that to check your coverage. But, still give the 14 day trial period a chance to if T-Mobile works where u go.
many of the other carriers need to improve their coverage anyway...
you could always try the trial policy to see if t-mobile is good for you and compare it to cingular, and whoever is better chose them.
Like everyone has said get one, take advantage of the trial period, if you don't like it switch.
