T-Mobile are CROOKS!!!

Just want to put out a warning to anyone who might be interested in buying a phone from T-Mobile but is required to make a deposit. They can not tell you how much the deposite will be untill the order is processed. After the order is processed they then give you the ammount required, if any, that you must deposit in order to use thier service.

All the other major carriers do the same but here is the difference and the reason I am calling them crooks. They are going to charge your account and place a hold on the funds. If you choose not to purchase the phone after you hear what the deposit will be they will place a hold on your funds for 72 business hours.

Fine for credit card holders but not fine if you used a debit card connected to...

Just because they want to protect themselves from deadbeats doesn't mean they are crooks.

That sounds like an irritating experience, but can be easily avoided by going into a direct (or indirect for that matter) store or by having your credit checked by the credit department through customer care. Everything else sounds above the board and pretty standard practice.

T-mobile is the last great company out there, it is irritating when you have all the money in your account on hold but also the aggravation gets to you when you call a carrier and the uneducated employees have a little understanding of the issue, they give you the run around back and forth, also when you process a transaction thru your card or check the receiving company will not see the funds for 72 hours as a curtsey, carriers and venders will give you a confirmation code, that’s why it takes that long for them to send it back, but I have to tell you as computers make life easy and is human to make a error, it takes computer system to really **** thing up. Next time when it decide to sign a agreement with any carrier or getting into ...

ok...i dunno why u guys seem to think that this is ok? that completely blows! for one, dont call HIM a crook when u dont know why his crdt is bad...maybe he got his check book stolen...dont assume. and two...that is crook behavior!! they can atleast tell him that if they process it and he changed his mind then he would know about the consequences. what happened to CCD (Customer Clear Disclosure)? its ans Act that all comapnies (not just cell carriers) are supposed to follow. well, this turns me away. i dont have bab credit but itsthe principle. if they treat their new customers this way, then how would they treat me when i'm bound/locked into a contract? talk about lawsuit waiting to happen!

FORTUNATELY, T MOBILE DOES HAVE CCD, AND IF THIS HAD IN FACT BEEN FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR, THEY WOULD HAVE PULLED THE CALL AND REPREMANDED AND PROBABLY FIRED THE AGENT THAT DIDN'T FULLY EXPLAIN THE SITUATION TO THE CUSTOMER. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. PLUS, THE MONEY IS JUST PLACED ON HOLD....SO IF YOU DO WRITE A CHECK THAT IS CASHED ON A WEDNESDAY, BUT THE $$$ WON'T BE RELEASED UNTIL THURSDAY, YOUR CHECK DOESN'T "BOUNCE"... ON TOP OF THAT, LIKE STATED EARLIER, ALL OF THE MOBILE CARRIERS PROCESS THE ORDERS THIS WAY WHEN YOU GO THROUGH THE PHONE DEALER. WHEN YOU CALL OR DO IT THROUGH THE COMPUTER, THERE IS NO WAY TO VERIFY IDENTITY, SO T-MOBILE HAS TO COVER THEIR BUTTS IN ALL WAYS POSSIBLE, WHICH MEANS MAKING SURE THAT THE CUSTOMER HAS ALL ...

not all carriers do so...i used to work for vzw (last day was 2/28/06) and they do nothing of the such. (and before u go thinking anything...i left the company just b/c i had a better job offer). i know they didnt actually TAKE the money....and yes, they can write checks...but so much for going to the ATM or bank to take it out.....what if his rent was due and he doesnt use checks....its still crap however u look at it.

You must not have went to a direct corporate store then. Are you sure it wasn't some "Mobile Solution" store with t-mobile collateral out? There is a big difference between them and a direct dealer. For every customer that comes into the store we run credit, tell you if you have to pay a deposit or not, then you make the decision from there. We do not hold funds or wait to tell you anything until after the transaction has processed. Personally, if I were in your shoes I would have been a little leary in the first place of this process...if someone told me that were not allowed to tell me how much of a deposit I had to pay until after the order processed, why in the world would you continue the transaction? Just say NO THANKS!

Do not attempt to bag on, The Mobile Solution. This is the largest EXCLUSIVE dealer for T-Mobile with over 400 locations nationwide. Also T-Mobile was chosen over Cingular to be the company TMS wanted to sell. Why? Because of WATSON. WATSON tells you up front what the deposit will be if any. Also have you never heard this line, "Team Together Team Apart!"? You need to please re-read your values statement. I have been around since the company was Voice Stream. I have trained the reps in CC previously and I work in the field helping customers and dealers. Deciphering bad information relayed by call center or on-line sales reps. As a company this is our largest contributor to our strong net ads. please think before you speak. I am T...
