I asked this in razor forum but got no reply. Is there a way to send ringtones to the razor through text. I can do this on my verizon razor, but it wouldn't work on tmobile version. Is their something i am missing or can this not be done.

that sucks, why does tmobile cripple their phones!!!!!!! I am switching carriers.

Just kidding, i just wanted to post that in another carrier's forum since that is all i ever see on the verizon forum 😁

So on a more serious note, is their a cheap effective way to get ringers on this phone? Or is the only way through tzones or whatever it is called.

actually yes. from wal-mart.com. under music search for an atrist you like. right click on the listen link of the 30 second music clip you want to download. and type the properties in your razrs enter url. for example type http://music.walmart.com/m/006/02/49/86/17/40 /0060249861740.01.01.006.mp3

😁 try it. 😁 . you cant send it to your self in a text because its too large. but if you find any clips under 150kbs with a .mp3 its able to be sent via text msg or mms. files larger have to use the enter the url method.

please understand you'll need t-zones to download and if you don't have the subscribtion due to them changing things around it will not work unless you subscribe to t-zones.

yea. they changed it a few months ago i thin november or december. no more fre download pay per use deal. now they only offer t-mobile web as a way of downloading and its a monthly cost. depending on how many ringers and such you plan on stealing it can be a good spend. on the other hand if you only stealing a tone or two its a waste.

but sorry man. ☹️

just remember you have to send it to the razr. the razr for one reason or another cant take or browse into other bluetooth files but can send and recieve bluetooth files. but whatever the case the razr does support obex wich will allow you to send ringers and pics back and forth to and from your phone to other phones and pc's.

You CAN send that to yourself in an SMS; do it from the website (My T-Mobile) and it will go right through.

i cant understand how it didn't work on your t-mobile version. i steal 😲 ....i'mean take sound clips from wal-mart.com all the time.

the vzw one i'm not sure how you are able to do it. πŸ˜• that suprises me. espically since brew is the format of their downloading. i thought that only allowed downloads to come from the get it now services. πŸ˜•

Some of verizon phones allow text ringers, the old lg models up to the lg8000 and most motorolas allow this. I have to use bitpim for my 8100 to get ringers on, i just use funformobile.com to send them to razr and mo815, but my tmobile razr opens the text, doesn't play it, when i try to open it it sends me to tzones or the web or whatever that crap is.

☹️ i'm at work right now and our firewall wont let me try it and see what the problem is.

but do you have the t-zones subcribtion? i know you cant do the wal-mart thing without it. why it may be sending you to t-zones is because it needs to use the web to download it. sorta like wal-mart does too. thats my only guess.

I don't have a tzones subscription. What i a have always done is went to walmart, save a 30 second song clip from one of the previews onto my desktop. I would just rename it and add.mp3. I then just go to funformobile and select upload ringers, from their you just hit browse button and select the song file from desktop you saved, slap in you mobile number and bam, free ringtone. I have never tried the url thing, would i have to have the subscription to tzones to do this?

yes. and to do the fun mobile thing because it uses the web to download the ringers. thats why its send you to t-zones. unfortunatly nolonger does t-mobile allow downloads from other sources than t-mobile through t-zones. they make you have to pay a subscribtion to t-mobile web which allows downloads from other sources than t-mobile themselves.

Just FYI. The phone is a Razr (no o.) If you had wanted a razor you should have gone down to Walgreens πŸ™‚

I take free music clips via walmart ALL the time. Seems everyone that knows phones knows that trick. Samsungs and Sony's are extremely easy to manipulate this. Because of the way that motorola's are set up I remember it being much more difficult but was able to do it.. That was on a V551 which is almost identical to a razor as far as UI. Keep in mind this was all done on cingular phones, however I would assume the same principal stands for any GSM carrier as long as you can copy the acual shortcut to the clip and paste it in a text to yourself via a website. Once you recieve the text you just go to the shortcut which brings you online straight to the point of downlaoding the link...Download the link and then save it as a ring tone. I did try...
