Will I get a better price on a new phone if I cancel service for 30 days? 60? 90?
I have the chance to use another PDA phone on Cingular for a few months.
I'm debating whether to discontinue T-Mobile service, or keep my data-only plan, in case Danger offers us a special deal on the Sidekick III in a couple of months.
But traditionally, hasn't T-Mobile offered better prices to new customers than upgrade customers?
(I'm long past my contract.)
How long do you have to be without service to be considered a new customer?

In the past, T-Mobile did give better prices to new customers, but so many existing customers complained that they are now offered same-as-new pricing on the majority of devices for a one-year contract, and a better deal for a two-year contract.
If you don't mind the two-year contract, your choices are: Not have T-Mobile for at least 90 days, and so skip out on paying at least $90 plus tax for the data only plan, or keep it and save probably $50 or $100, I have no clue what the prices will be, on new activation prices by signing a two-year contract when the SK3 comes out, and don't...
