Unsupported Nokia 6820 on T-Mobile?

I am a new T-Mobile customer and I just got a Nokia 3595. Now I want to get a Nokia 6820, however. I'm trying to figure out if it will work with my T-Mobile account.

Is it possible to get the Nokia 6820 and transfer my service to it? If so how do I do it? I'm technically inclined and don't mind doing a little configuring if that is what it takes.

Thanks in advance! 😁

If you're able to get the 6820 unlocked, it'll work fine on Tmobile's network. Only in the 1900mhz band, though.

That is great thanks. I'm getting one unlocked and will swap out the SIM. Do I have to do anything special to configure Internet access to point to T-Zones or is that automatic?

Is this a carrier unlocked phone or factory unlocked? Sometimes you can have problems with the data portion of a carrier unlocked handset.

I am shopping around on E-bay for the phone. Many of the phones available are unlocked AT&T Wireless phones (unlocked by the seller, usually dealers I guess). They are going for less then $300 which seems pretty good compared to retail.

I've been doing some reading and it looks like I will need to edit the T-Zones settings for the phone. It would be a show stopper if I couldn't get T-Zones/Internet access. GPRS service plus the keyboard are the reasons I'm buying the phone.

I found a site that lists the settings I'd need to modify. As long as I can access the settings (after the phone is unlocked) and as long as it works I should be okay right?

Here are the T-Mobile settings I'm looking at: http://www.t-mobile.com/help/services...
