I CAN'T DECIDE!! HELP!!
I'm torn between several cell phones...I'm due for an upgrade (have been for over 5 months) and waited desperately for the new t809. But after reading all the cons and how you cant use your own mp3's as ringtones, now I don't know what to get. Is the PEBL capable of custom/unlocked mp3 ringtones? Should I just get the v360? Or should I get the Sidekick 2? I was thinking about switching to cingular but their plans are very expensive and dont give many minutes. Help pleease what should I get?
What I'm looking for in a phone:
IM Capability
Unlocked mp3 ringtones
Speakerphone
Camera/Video, 2nd display, etc would all be nice but if a phone has those 3 features then please let me know. Thank you so much!

I say go on eBay and buy a ROKR unlocked I have it and I have had every phone you can think of (honestly) and the ROKR is diesel!!

dont get a motorola...all they have is problems.i am on my 8th motorola this year. go for the t809 or wait until next year.

Well actually there is work around for mp3s on t809. U just need to rename file extentions from .mp3 to 3gp. I would say Pebl or T809... T809 has EDGE... But pease don't get the ROKR it's overprice and outdated as well as Kinda ugly.

If you don't care about the camera phone piece too much but would rather have a phone that can play your MP3s, I would suggest getting a BB albeit the situation they are undergoing with the patent lawsuit. You can also IM on Y! and AIM with this device.

You forgot to mention US Gov't contracts. This is one of the main reasons that RIM got some breathing room from NTP. The Gov't cannot afford a sudden outage of the BB network!
IMHO it won't get shut down. It just doesn't make any sense! NTP never even used their own intellectual property to build / make anything, ever! The inventor has since died too and now it's just a bunch of lawyers with $ signs in their eyes!!!
They will get (and rightly so) a nice big chunk of cold hard cash for sure! That's why the delay right now. How much should RIM pay out?? They wanted like 5% revenue per year which is ridiculous!

just go buy an unlocked phone from the internet and have fun with that. I have the Nokia N90 from t-mobile for only $400.
