Deutsche Telekom SIM?

Does anyone out there know if a T-Mobile USA tri-band phone will accept a Deutsche Telekom pre-paid SIM while in germany (whether or not the phone is SIM-locked). I mean, It's the same company technically, but will Vaterland company's SIM card work or will it be locked to only a T-Mobile USA SIM card?
Gotta be some T-Mobile CSRs out there that know the answer to this one. Or do I have to drive up to DT's headquarters in Bonn to find out! Don't tell me to call 611 and get the phone unlocked; there's a lot of history behind this question ( YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!)

No conclusive answer available, but I'm betting on a "no."

Thanks Aleq,
It turns out that its a moot issue; the phone is unlocked! I went by an AT&T store today and put an activated AT&T SIM in it and it found AT&T's network.
So it will definitely take A Deustche Telekom SIM!
Thanks for the reply.
