Don't get too hyped. The phone is only showing T-Mobile cause his phone is an unlocked version, and the T-Mobile SIM card is what is making the phone say T-Mobile.

ok, cool point, but what do u have that would suggest that it’s unlocked (as in an unlocked cingular phone), it’s a moto prototype, obviously for t-mobile or cingular, why would it not be for t-mobile? Seems like they are starting to listen to their customers…maybe this is a way they can redeem themselves? Just being hopeful. (damn t-mo & there outdated phone selection)

I think thats a prototype. I said not to get hyped cause sometimes the manufacturers lete those mobile review companies test the phones out. That phone is not yet announed for a carrier yet. Remember that can just be an unbranded/unlocked phone that is saying T-Mobile from the SIM card. It might come to T-Mobile, but knowing Cingular they might snatch it up first. Hope Not.

My guess. Cingular will get it first, as an exclusive for there amount of time. And maybe later if T-Mobile really wants it, they will get it. That's for the US. I think T-Mobile UK will get it when it comes out. And no I am not a Cingular guy, I am a T-Mobile customer, I am just a realist that recognizes this is just the way things are here in the US for now.

Not off the top of my head. But maybe you could keep your eyes open in China Town. Apparently the China Town areas in major cities always seem to get these phones, at least unbranded and if you make friends with them, you might even get a good deal. Unless the UK phone companies start allowing for export mailing.

honestly, cingular doesnt care too much if tmobile gets the razr2 at the same time. why? because they're geting the v3x. and this is a fact. moto hid it pretty well saying it was strictly euro and asia, but a version for cingular has been confirmed and passed. and quite frankly, its a far superior phone

I told the OP, that the phones say Prototype, and that means they are only in the testing phases. No carrier yet.

Those phones are unlocked. The phones you see, say prototype. That means that they are not final. They are only in the test stages. So, officially there is "no" carrier yet for the new RAZR.

As far as I can tell you are correct. But you have to admit, it is more likely that Cingular will get the RAZR 2 first, if it comes to the US market.

To me its not worth it. They just lost some money over the Moto ROKR. I heard that phone isn't selling well at all. They had to pay APPLE, MOTO, and for the exclusivity of the phone.

word on the street is cingular signed a deal with nokia,moto,lg,samsung,se and maybe others to carry most models and if not the flagships, ALL! at least 6 months before t-moble. thats what a cingy rep told me. she said thats y they got the razr a year later. (they had to wait 6 months to touch it, than another 6 months of testing).

Its called Exclusive rights. I wouldn't be surprised if Cingular went Bankrupt from acting stupid and placing a exclusive right on every phone that hit the market, and it not selling good. I heard that the Moto ROKR isn't selling good.
