Any feedback from existing customers on T-Mobile coverage in Western Oregon and Wash?

They supposedly serve this area, but their coverage map looks like an eraser smudge down Interstate 5.

TIA

awesome coverage. I live about 26 miles south of seattle and have found the reception to be better than when I had Verizon.

due to some of the terrain, even CDMA reception becomes a bit hairy, but for some reason, GSM 1900 comes in just fine. my home is one of many locations where Verizon service was poor, but T-Mobile service is excellent.

if you're in this region, i highly recommend T-Mobile over Verizon or ATT/Cingular 850mhz GSM as there seem to be fewer holes.

Thanks, oakie.

Can you tell me anything about T-Mob coverage down here in the Willamette Valley and also in the Cascades?

I'm on 850 TDMA now and coverage is actually pretty good where I'm at.

for the cascades, i get limited reception along the I-90 corridor... if i stray off I-90 over 5 miles, i lose reception. as for southern WA and the willamette valley, i havent tested anything there at all. all companies have a 14 day return period, some longer... so dont be afraid to try out a quality phone with all the service providers until you get the service you need in your area.

GSM in the states is VERY limited so far. Cingular and T-Mo both use 1900mhz GSM, while AT&T uses 850mhz. AT&T GSM service is by far and away worse than the other two.

CDMA systems advertise greater coverage, but i just ditched Verizon for T-Mo cuz the CDMA coverage wasnt nearly as good as advertised, and i liked the data portability available for GS...
