Help me pick a T-Mobile phone

Here's my choices: Moto V330 or Samsung SGH-E335, SGH-X475, or SGH-X495.

Here's my needs: First and foremost - reception and call quality. Second - must have vibrate (for those meetings). Beyond that, I'm not all that picky.

Can anyone tell me which of these phones is the best at being a phone? (if they are truly equal in this area, then I'll chose based on other stuff)

Thanks!

Honestly I would take the V188. Of all the phones I sell with Tmobile the v188 has the least problems. Not everybody may agree with me, but thats just my opinion.

Well there are pros and cons for every phone.

V330 is the most feature packed, it's got a camera that takes video, it's bluetooth, it's a speaker phone, but for me it's a little bulky.

X475 I've heard bad things about reception (which is odd because Samsungs are usually stellar for reception.) And it's light on the features, it does nothing special (compared to the others your looking at) however it is easy to use.

I haven't heard much about the X495, I can't say I'm impressed, if you want features like that get the V188, it's got the same features plus a few and it's battery life is superior.

E335 is nice, Speakerphone, camera (no video though) it's smaller than the V330 and good reception. It also has a bigger screen than the...

I should point out that the V188 is free through T-mobile.com and 1800TMOBILE.

I say if you really want a kicka$$ phone wait until around the 2nd week of September... Nokia 6101 is coming out, one of Nokia's very first flip phone.

The only downside to it is: No bluetooth and no memory card slot (but I like it so much I'd almost be willing to part with my 6600). Other than that, it's a flip of course, it has speakerphone, it's EDGE capable and has a FM radio thing (which you need a special headset for), external picture caller ID, camera for photos AND video-- and by the way the Nokia guy said that it can take videos much longer than the usual 7-10 seconds.

Buuuuuuuut if you wanna get one right now I say go with the Samsung E335. Stay away from Motorolas, they seem to be consistent at failing over time. T...

Had a sammy E-105 and I must say worst reception ever so personally I would stay away from any one of them in the future. I would wait for the 6101, do not know much but nokia's always tend to perform the best esp. reception wise!

Good Info... Thanks.

I can't wait for the New Nokia and price is not much of an issue (I'm getting a replacement for a defective Nokia 3220 and all the phones I've listed are the options I have that I'm interested in and will not be a cost difference.)

The V188 may be an option too, but I figured the V330 would be a similar phone with more bells and whistles, and since price is not an issue...

So from what I'm reading, it's between the V330 and the E335 (and maybe the V18😎...

Well that narrows it down a little 😕

Well if price is not an issue, forget the V330 and go to the RAZR. The review say it has superior reception, and it's screen is absolutely stunning (I've gotten to spend some time actually playing with one and while I generally don't like Motorola's as much as my Samsung I was very impressed.) There is actually a big review on it on this site, under featured articles that might be of interest to you as well.

I'm tempted to do just that... however, I'm a little put off by some of the reviews. People seem to love or HATE this phone, and there are quite a bit of comments about it being "fragile".

Right now I'm leaning towards the RAZR.

Thanks

I sell T-Mobile and will always recommend any Samsung over any Motorola. I see more problems with Motorola phones in general, but especially with screens just going out for no reason. In all honesty if it was me I would wait for the Nokia 6101 flip phone unless you are set on having bluetooth. In that case you really have no choice at the moment other than a Motorola. Hope that helps.

Skip on the RAZR. I had one and sent it back because it got worse reception than my 3 year old V60. I'm now waiting for the Nokia 3220 to arrive and if I'm not happy with that one, I'm going to try the 6101.

I have tried all of the flip phones TMobile currently sells (I am a customer care rep). All 3 of the Samsungs (X475/X495/E335) had really REALLY HORRIBLE reception. Worse than my 3yr old Samsung V205 (which is in my opinion the best flip phone we ever sold). The Siemens CF62T I didn't bother with because I wouldn't give that phone as a chew toy to my dog.
The Moto V188 was the best receptioned phone of any of the phones I used (but it was still worse than my V205). The V330 is too bulky in my opinion and the RAZR is just too wide and tall for me personally-reception was on par with V188 though.
Personally I am on the waiting list to test out the Nokia 6101 and that is the phone I will PROBABLY be purchasing for myself to replace my...
