T-Zones

Ok, I'm a happy new T-mobile customer. I have some questions though...
I also have a phone with Cingular (100% GSM boy here -I'm just a dork-) anyway, my question is about T-mobile's T-zones. How does T-mobile charge for the usage of T-zones?
Is it the same way Cingular charges for MEdia Net? (0.01 per kilobyte) Or is it only when I dowonload something? I don't have what cingular calls a "Media Net" package. I have 5MB of Media Net (with cingular) so if I check the weather, news, d-load a ringtone etc, I'm covered for the kilobytes I use while doing that. Do I have to get some type of data package like that with T-mo too? if so, what's the name of it?

I don't have that $4.99 package. How is T-mobile gonna charge me?

All you need is the $5.99 T-MobileWeb(T-Zones) and you are set. It includes unlimited usuage, unlike Cingular, and other carriers.

Thank you! but it seems like nobody understands my question...

I don't want to pay the $5.99. I have 5MB of media net on my other phone. I'm not gonna use my T-mo phone for data that much (just phone calls and txts) I really don't need T-mobileWeb. I WANT to pay per usage. How much is T-mo gonna charge me?
ex: $0.01 per kilobyte.

They don't charge per Kb like Cingular. Thats my point. They give you a set price and you pay it. Unless you were to go online and add it, for a few days, then cancel it. They will pro-rate you. Meaning, that if the T-MobileWeb costs $5.99 and you only use it for 3 days, they will bill you like this: $5.99(regular price) / 30 days for a month = $0.1996 for a day of usuage * (the number of days you use it) = what you will pay

You have included basic access to the TZones storefront, enough to allow you to download ringtones, wallpapers and games. You aren't charged anything for browsing this stuff, just a per item charge for anything you actually download. You don't have access to any other aspect of TMobile Web unless you add the 5.99 feature, which is then unlimited access for the monthly charge. You'll still be charged per item for downloads from our server, but you will then have access to other WAP sites for downloads. The big advantage to the feature is that two of the available bookmark sites are Yellow Pages and White Pages, which can be used for direct connect without using 411 at 1.25 a call.

Does this clear things up?

If you are browsing wallpaper, ring tones, etc, you don't get charged unless you buy something.

Yeah, browsing their wap page is free, but if you want to go to other non-tmobile pages, you will need the T-MobileWeb plan, so you can browse other webpages.

Sweet! so as long as I stay on T-mobile's sites I don't get charged. I like T-mo more and more each day 😁 😉
I am really getting MORE!

T-Zones (basic) does not charge though the only thing you can do with the basic T-Zones is download ringtones(from T-mobile) down load almost anything from T-Mobile only you can not search the web for that you would need Unlimted T-Zones(a seprate charge of 4.99) but i asure you its worth it T-Mobile recently launched EDGE and is faster than ever compaired to its competitors. YOu can check your email, chat, messenger, look up addresses and many more woth UNlimited T-Zones!!!!
