This sux. Looks like I will no longer be a T-Mobile customer once my contract expires. Me and my wife have a family plan with 2 phones, 500 minutes, $49.99 ($58 after taxes and fees). We use tops around 400 minutes a month. To us that's just a price increase. I'll be moving on to one of T-Mobiles competitor's. If I'm going to be paying $59.99 I might as well have the better coverage.

I don't understand your displeasure. You're out of your contract and your present plan works for you. What makes you want to leave unless you're not getting something you think you should be.

Have to agree with everyone on this. As long as you don't changed your plan, you won't pay more. I don't see a problem for you. 🙂

Okay, I thought that when my renewal was up I would be forced to choose a new plan. If I can keep my current plan, then that's different. Now if only they could fill in some of the annoying signal gaps they have in Worcester, MA and especially just outside it to the Northwest.

Good lord no, you can stay on the same plan for years if you want, my aunt is on a plan that was phased out ages ago and she's not be made to change (and she's with T-mobile.)

Speaking of the FT plans, I had a question. Does anyone know if there are perhaps plans to launch a new SmartAccess FT plan? I don't know if this is something that could be done. But ponder on this a moment, SA account are designed to have a spending limit of 150.00. The most basic of FT plans would equal to if not less then a rate plan with all the add-ons.

Any thoughts?

Wishing you well,
Snow.

Well, considering it looks like Take Control will be replacing Smart Access eventually, I don't think a family plan is in the works. Remember, it's still a credit issue and two lines increases exponentially the potential credit risk...

Hey wdoa,

If you do switch come see me, I would love to see your face when you find out that the cheapest family plan with any other carrier is $70 for 2 phones. The economy is hurting, there are many people out there who dont want to pay a lot for cellular service, and now the cheapest for two phones is $60. Wonder where it will be in a year or two?

Yeah, you are right didn't notice that Verizon had gone and jacked their rates by $10. Oh well then I alter my comment to say we'd just use our cell phones a heck of a lot less and use Trackphone or such. Closing in on the neighborhood of $100 a month with fees real and artificially created is too much for 2 phones. But I guess it just about priorities....
