Anyone here have any TMobile insider info on whether or not the ICS release is definitive for 5/15? My device, Samsung Galaxy S II, is on the list to get the upgrade.

ICS will Jack up your phone:

1. Caused issues with VPN
2. Navigon
3. SimCity
4. CoPilot Live
5. Freezes phone when a call comes in and sometimes you cant answer.
6. Alarm Clock is now a hit and miss.

Go to the Tmobile Forums tons of issues.

😳 Thanks for the advice... Hopefully these are just initial glitches and once they get fixed I can upgrade as I am presuming support for Gingerbread will be phased out over time.

I had to stop in a TMobile store recently and was told by the rep that they delayed the launch because of issues and the kinks should be worked out before end of July...

Has everyone updated whose device will allow it updated to ICS? I was told earlier that there were issues by TMobile reps but those seem to be resolved with subsequent patches. I called into TMobile today for a different issue and was advised by the rep that I definitely need to update to ICS. Previous responses in the the phonescoop forums still make me hesitant thus any any and all opinions, thoughts, suggestions welcome.

If you're still hesitant about the update, don't do it. I can't think of any reason that you would ever NEED to update.

It's not that I'm super hesitant, I just don't want to deal with a mountain of issues. The T-Mobile rep said now that the patch has been put out it is being advised to update because otherwise I won't be ready for the next update which is JellyBean.

Mainly I am asking to get a sense of whether or not the patch resolved all the quirks and if people were happy overall with ICS. As it is I feel like a dinosaur to be running Gingerbread but I tend to want the surest bet when it concerns technology.
