New text and picture messaging prices and features
Starting June 29th, prices and features for TZones (which is being renamed TMobileWeb) are changing, the TMobileWeb unlimited feature goes to 5.99 and there are some changes being made to the menus, also account info will be available online.
Picture messaging costs essentially go to .05 per and are bundled with text messages, the features are priced as follows:
400 Text and Picture Messages for $4.99
1000 Text and Picture Messages for $9.99
Unlimited Text and Picture Messages for $14.99
So for all you SMS junkies out there, get ready to hit your MyTMobile account to add the features after the 29th--or you can call in and have us do it, either way... 😉

So they are dropping the price of a Pic Message from 25 cents to 5 cents?
What will be the difference from the current T-Zones, and the new TMobileWeb besides the pictures?

If you don't have a bundled sms/mms package, the cost per mms will still be .25/msg. The .05/msg is for overage on the bundled packages.
As for T-MobileWeb, it's just t-zones.

I heard that the $9.99 T-Zones Pro will be grandfathered into the new $5.99 plan. So, if we got the new plan, can we have email too, like the $9.99 T-Zones Pro?

My sup is looking into whether we will have a seperate Pros feature or if it will bundled into the 5.99 plan. The information we have doesn't really give us a clue. But with the 4.99 t-zones, you can get unlim e-mail. The diff between Pros and T-zones is that Pros can access Corp e-mail, while t-zones can only access POP3.

Oh, okay. I see now. I hope the $1.00 increase will make T-Zones more useful, and attractive. I am getting tired of seeing Cingular's web, and sprint's website that has all the cool pics and graphics.

This is an SMS/MMS package, we don't care who you're sending to or receiving from. The only thing that isn't included is the international text messages, still priced at .15 each.
That VZW "in" thing annoys me. Why should you have to know what carrier someone has in order to know if you should SMS them or not? It's just a cheap way to get current customers to lean on friends and family to switch--so they don't have to think any more... 🙄

It also is (and has been) with Cingular/AT&T as well.

Since you are getting a Sidekick 2, you definitely need the Sidekick data plan. Or, if you don't want to have it on contract, T-Mobile sells it for Prepaid also. Its $279.99 with $15 worth of airtime, PLUS they are giving a promo so you can get a FREE $25 T-Mobile to go REFILL card, with your purchase.

I think they will not force you to get the new plan. You will be grandfathered meaning that you will be able to keep you plan that you have for the messages, until you change it. Meaning if you change it, you can't go back to it since its discontinued.
I don't think you will be able to get pic messages on your current messaging plan. You would have to change to the new plans, to take advantage of the new specials.

You can keep your current data features if you like, I doubt that you won't get the new TZones menu even with the old feature, it doesn't usually work that way.

Nope, that's an internet plan, what we're discussing here are features specifically for SMS and MMS. If you want to browse HTML web pages, you need the internet feature.
