hello all,

our t-mo rep just sent us an email in regards to the 45.99 1000 n&w plan making a comeback may 1st. is this true nationwide or maybe just for our oregon market?

either way i am excited for some real easy sales ๐Ÿ™‚

noone says they are bad, but I can think of several ways they can be improved.
For example:
- allow using SMS and minutes interchangably
- make incoming SMS cheaper (free?) possibly by charging more for outgoing
- make SMS free when it's TMo to TMo and/or weekends

Right now T-Mobile has the cheapest SMS rates in the domestic business. AT&T Wireless had no charge for incoming but as you know ATTWS is basically dead. Unless you now hold an ATTWS account there is no more ATTWS. Verizon charges 3ร‚ยข for each incoming message but charge more for outgoing messages. And despite all the furror a few months ago when T-Mobile finally started charging a premium for international SMS they are still the cheapest for the most part.

Actually, with in texting, Verizon is giving its customers unlimited text messages to other verizon customers, and the ability to sign up for packages that allow buckets of messages to be used with other carriers.

Actually, Tmo's shared price plans need to be adjusted.

For instance:

2 lines:
$45.99
+$6.99
$105.96 for 2000 minutes

That is about 15% less (price/minute) than the $99.99 1600 minute shared price plan.

There are two reasons that doesn't hold up. Number one, the 45.99 plan is not a permanent offer, at least not yet. Number two, that math only works for a two-line plan. If you need more phones than that, they are going to cost you an extra $52.98 per month each.

You don't get mobile to mobile with individual plans, that's why you get less minutes.

I currently have the Get More Plus (1000+n&w) rate plan with the Buddy-Time option. The last time this great offer came along I tried to get it, but was told I would have to loose the Buddy Time option. Is this true?

I know I'd still save money by going with the cheaper plan and adding Mobile-to-Mobile and 1000 text messages, but I'm really hung-up on the "unlimited" text messages that came along with it (not that I actually have ever gone over 1000, but who knows what the future holds).

Any advice?

I've already put two customers onto it, and the guy sitting next to me is reading the verbal agreement right now--yes, the 1000 N/W 45.99 plan is available right this minute... and in answer to the previous question, this rate plan is incompatible with BuddyTime and will wipe it out. Sorry 'bout that, but there's a reason for all of it... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Only the second day it's available, and I've already changed over seven people today--half my shift to go! This thing sells itself--it's like having an ice cream stand in the middle of the Gobi desert! Or a hot chocolate stand in Antarctica... ๐Ÿ˜Ž

What I did was I was able to upgrade from 600 mins to 1000 for 39.99. This was a promotion that was put out last year that I saw on a commercial. I called cust service to confirm what I saw, and they said it was going on. So I was able to get "grandfathered" in with this plan that is not being offered any more. 1000 mins for $45.00 is pretty good though.

You don't have nights though, right? This plan includes 1000 mins plus nights and weekends.
