international iPhone- prepaid SIM?

A friend in Australia has an international iPhone and will be travelling to the US for about a month. Is there is a way to get a pre-paid SIM with 3G for use in the US?

No. The perpaid sim cards do support t-mobile's 3g but the phone your friend has probably doesn't have the same 3g frequency that the U.S supports.

To further clarify, yes your friend would get service, but only 2G service. (prepaid doesn't do data anyways). The 3G bands are different than the international version, so he/she will be able to make phone calls and text no problem.
