google voice with tmo

I have an htc dash 3g and I was interested in google voice. However, I see that there is a waiting list for google voice. I was wondering if anyone knows of any similar product like google voice.

Nothing exactly like it, no.

If your phone can download skype, you can get a skype phone number (30 a year) and basic service (it's less than 5 a month) and drop to a data only plan, supposedly.
