Does anyone else hate T-Mobile's phonebook back-up system?

I'm about to "hurl" my phone at the wall, flush it down the toilet, or do something "bad" to T-Mobile! I hate the My T-Mobile address book back-up system!

The problem was worse with the Samsung T-659 I had, but is happening again with the Sony Ericsson Equinox I just purchased. I finally get the address book in and right, but then I simply try to enter in a new entry. When my phone then talks to the website and visa-versa, it then duplicates, triplicates and "mixes" contacts together! mad::banghead: If I go in either to the website or phone...delete the duplicates, it'll then put them back in again! Or it'll take my personal addresses and put them back in as a business address in my phone!

That sucks man. I don't know what is causing this, since I haven't had this happen myself, and I've never had a customer come in with that problem. I made the mistake of putting my sim in a buddy's phone and accidentally ran the mobile backup, which then saved all 900 of his contacts to my phone book. Took me about an hour to delete them all from the website, but it synced no problem and they disappeared on my phone as well. Have you spoken to tech support?
Alternate solution: don't use the mobile backup service, it is optional. Just go to your phonebook options, change it to show only SIM contacts and to save contacts to the SIM by default. The mobile backup service only uses contacts saved to the phone memory.

I have spoken to tech support and get a wide variety of answers, but no one seems to either know directly how to fix it, or I get the impression that they think I have no idea what I'm talking about, or my problem is not real.

I could try your alternate solution, but then I would lose all my addresses, etc, for the sim only stores names and phone #'s. I'll do that as a last ditch resort though!

I'm considering going back to a Smartphone, for while the e-mail client on the Equinox works better than any non-Smartphone I've used in the past, it still won't let me access most attachments. I'm considering going back to a BlackBerry...for havin...

It's not something normal. I've been using the back up tool since it came out and i love it. It has saved my butt several times. I've never heard of that problem. Hopefully you get it fixed.
