Upgrade question
I have 3 lines on my account, and I was going to preorder the mytouch using an upgrade for a line other than mine. I was told that I would have to maintain a data plan on the line that i used to upgrade, even I don't use the phone on that line, in addition to the data plan on on my line with the phone. Is there any way around this? I just want the data plan on the line that will be using the phone. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Don't pre-order it. The online system will automatically populate the web feature on the wrong line.
Go to a corporate store and buy it there. I know I would be able to work with that since there's no mail in rebates to worry about.

Under normal circumstances, this would be right. However, T-Mobile, like every other carrier, has required the data plans on the MyTouch3g, G1, sidekicks, dash, dash 3g, touchpro2, and blackberries 8320 and 8900. With this required data goes an instant rebate making these phones the price that is stated on the websites. in order to qualify for the instant rebate, the data plan MUST be on the line that is being upgraded. In addition, the data plan cannot be removed unless the phone itself is lost/stolen/changed/etc. These are relatively new policies. The phone can still be purchased at the full retail price with no data feature required.
I know this is bad news, but I still hope that it is helpful

Thanks. That's what I was told, just making sure. I have my own upgrade on Ayg 18th. I suppose I can wait a few extra weeks. Just wanted to get a jump on it! This will give me more time to decide between the mytouch and the TP2.

Depends what you want to use your phone for. The myTouch has many more apps (Android market) but the TP2 will be awesome for people who use it for business, but it will be considerably more expensive (my guess).

TP2 Expect Wing launch pricing, So 1 arm 1 leg a testical and your first born. Then pray that what looks to be one of the best HTC phones is actually a great phone and not a flop. I admit i loved my hour i spent with it, but HTC always make me a little leary.
