What's up guys? I am wondering if you guys can assist me in a problem I am having with T-Mobile.

My ordeal started about one month ago when the track ball on my Sidekick 08 did not work anymore. I called customer service and we conducted troubleshooting over the phone, the representative said that they would have to exchange the device. She asked me to check the water marks on the phone to ensure there was no water damage. There was one water mark I could not located, so the rep instructed me to take it to a Tmo store so they can check the water mark. At that point the rep on the told me that it would be a post exchange so that I would not spend money on the shipping, meaning i had to send the phone first and then I would get the replacem...

The sidekick is only a post exchange if you do not have insurance. Add insurance to your account, wait a week, and thenit will become a pre-exchange where you get the phone first and send it back in the prepaid box they send it in. If they give you trouble adding the insurance, PM me and I can add it for you.

Thanks for the advise, after all that, I caved in and paid the shipping, sent it by regular US mail yesterday, and saturday.

Can you please verify that 210 Wiley Rd, LaGrange Ga 32040, is a correct address, when I called to see if I could add the insurance and asked to verify the address to the send the phone to, the customer representative said she did not recognize the address....and by any chance do you know how long it will take to send a replacement? Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's correct.
Honestly, I don't know with Post Exchanges. I'd say 7-10 days max.

That is weird that UPS won't do it, because the one right across from my store does it all the time. Sidekicks are always post-exchange, and so are all pre-paid phones. I have helped several customers do this, and UPS has never given them any problem....

It has been a month since your original post and I am curious how the story ended. Did you get you replacement phone in the expected time frame?

today i got my second replacement. Well yesterday monday.

Yes, their post exchange program is quick. However I had to exchange the phone a second time because the first replacement's sim card reader was not working, but before they agreed to exchange it they had me swap out new sim cards twice. The phone wasnt registering to the network. There was always a white phone bar where the G is suppose to be in a sidekick

And i had to pay a second time to ship the phone out. Im not happy but i got my phone.
