COVERAGE IN PORTLAND, OR...

I'm getting ready to move to Portland, and was inquiring how the coverage was for this carrier. I'm debating between Cingular, T-Mobile and Verizon. Any input is appreciated. I'm thinking of getting the Sharp TM-150 so any input with this phone in Portland, OR is appreciated.

Thanks

Go to deadcellzones.com and you will see that Verizon has the best record of the three mentioned. Cingular wil be listed as ATT there and they are the worst follwed closely by T-Mobile. This site is not controlled by any wireless carriers and allows consumers the option of submitting trouble areas with their providers. Hope this helps and remember that Cingular and Verizon will have better national coverage if you travel.

I used to live in Ptown(aka Stumptown, PDX) The coverage is pretty good. The only two trouble spots are mount tabor on the east side
and west of the peal district. Say "Hi" to all the hippies for me 🙂

Not to stretch a point, but you can't really ask "how is coverage in x city" since there are always factors that determine what kind of coverage you'll get in a certain neighborhood or a certain street including things such as terrain, buildings, foliage, etc. Just think about it: If coverage was universally poor in a city how would that carrier even sell any service to anyone?!

i live in vancouver,wa(right across of portland) i sell sprint, nextel, t-mobile, and cingular and my best friend sells verizon.of all the major carriers in portland they all work pretty well. i have some realitor friends that use t-mobile and they are all over the pdx area, so it works better than most people will say. so i would also consider minute and plan costs also.

p.s. i use t-mo and cingular as personal and nextel and sprint as work phones.

Check out t-mobile.com and use the Personal Coverage Check to get an idea of what you'll be looking at. I can say that the map provided is very accurate. But, this will only give you estimates, not testimonials.
