I have NO CLUE what I did or why it took so long. Honestly i didn't do anythng other than keep trying. There were two different wireless networks I would try to connect with and wouldn't work. Then suddenly at one of the spots I got a connection. I was hyped! Then it went away when I messed around with it. After a few tries it came back. Then I went to my main spot where I would use it. It didn't connect right away but then it did. Success ever since!! But I'll let you know if it REALLY worked when the bill comes!! HA!! Now, if I could just get the hell out of Saudi Arabia and back home!!

😛 Been there, done that. It ain't Hell but it's sure hot as Hell!

Hopefully it wasn't a defective phone.

Now what's the diff between UMA and Hotspot@home?

I'm not that good with the specifics but UMA is your mobile phone being able to use a wifi signal to make calls. These calls are free and unlimited. Hotspot at home is just having a tmobile router at home where you can hook up a home phone line to it and make unlimited calls with it. Tmobile constantly uses the hotspot at home or hot spot locations as the only way UMA will work. They dont say it directly but you feel that way. As long as you have a UMA enabled phone and a wifi network you can connect to you're good to go.

Phone still working fine with wifi. And it still HOT here. I'm in Jeddah where it doesn't cool off much

No this is incorrect. UMA stands for Unlicensed Mobile Access, which is the phone's ability to make voice calls via wifi. Hotspot @ home is the name of T-Mobile's UMA service. It is only free and unlimited if you have the $9.99 Hotspot @ Home feature on your line, otherwise it deducts from your regular minutes just like any other domestic call.
T-Mobile @Home is different from Hotspot @ Home. T-Mobile @ Home is T-Mobile's home phone service which goes through a special T-Mobile router called a HiPort that has 2 regular phone jacks.

Please let us know if you get charged.
I have not been to Saudi Arabia but I have heard there are nicer places to visit. No reflection on the people just the geography and heat!

NOOO!! I tell people ALL THE TIME it's a place to work, NOT visit. I think it would VERY difficult to just visit here anyway if you aren't muslim.

CONS:
No Movie theater
No clubs
No Alcohol
Don't see women, and when you do they are covered.
Did I say no alcolhol and women are covered?

PROS
