Nokia N-Series, E-Series, Candybar Phones ?!

I wonder why T-Mobile UK has a very nice selection of Nokia Smartphones (eg: N95 and E51) but in T-Mobile US the majority are budget flip-phones 😕 ?

I am really hoping that the upcoming T-Mobile's 3G network roll-out brings some Nokia N-Series and E-Series phones supporting the AWS bands (1700 - 2100) 😁 !!

The other day i had went to a Nokia training. I agree with you that it would be nice to have some n series phones. All though I have been told we will never get them. But don't let that dissapoint you we will be having some very high end music phones like the 5310, which is still pretty exciting. The only thing that is stopping t mobile from actually considering a n series phone is that the market that t mobile customers are dont really have an appeal to those type of phones.

The European market expects to pay a lot for their phones. So when a phone like the n95 (which costs about $500-$600) is discounted to say $300-$400 with a 2-year activation, they see it as a good deal. Here, if a phone is more than $100, people go nuts. T-Mobile would have to require a 4-year contract in order to make up for the initial handset loss on the phone. Yes, there are people who will pay $300 for a phone, but not enough to make it worth it for T-Mobile.

But I also agree that it would be very nice to see a high quality Nokia phone in the lineup.

You are 100% correct about the market and the market appeal for the typical US customer. If they want the high end nokia phones absolutely nothing is stopping them from buying one on ebay or an exotic cell phone store/site and sticking their SIM card in.

I bought an unlocked Nokia E61 back in september 2006 and still works like a champ.

And I would like to upgrade to another Nokia smartphone (symbian) but I haven't seen any supporting the upcoming T-Mobile's 3G network on the AWS bands.

The only Nokia phones that support such frequencies are a couple of flip-phones offered by T-Mobile, but these phones won't replace the functions my Nokia E61 provides me (eg. exchange push email)....

Oh well.... let's see what happens after T-Mobiles rolls out their 3g network 😁 !

According to TmoNews, T-Mobile will flip the 3G switch in the NYC market on May 1, also known as tomorrow (or today, or yesterday, etc. if you're reading this from the future!). Austin, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Miami are the next to be lit up, and by the end of 2008, T-Mobile is planning to cover 20 markets. Right now, the carrier offers four 3G handsets, but we expect that number to increase, now that the technology is actually here. Hit the link for a full list of the cities.

Just wondering (not trying to be rude or anything), but I can't find anything on Google saying that the Z780 is coming to T-Mobile..nor the W760. Sony Ericsson says both phones will features WCDMA 850/1900/2100...but makes no mention of WCDMA 1700. Can you confirm that those phones are coming to T-Mobile or are you just speculating?

😳 Wow! Wouldn't it be awesome if T-Mobile actually picked up a different handset other than the same stuff from Samsung and Motorola that they continuously do.

It just sucks in the US because more people still care about the deal they can get rather than thinking about what the phone will actually offer. Too bad we are in a corporate(carrier) controlled environment and the manufacturers can't make what they want for us as far as demand in the US!! 😢

I can only say that I really hope they do pick up SE and it looks like from what I am hearing that the Nokia lineup is going to change soon and a few of what they have in T-Mobile UK are coming over here!!!

Ming ming ming, you my friend, are the king of speculation. On every site you post on, you speculate more than Donald Trump. You should really take the time to consider that your "speculating" leads to others expecting and then being disappointed.

Who and what I am is not relevant to this discussion. What is man is that you see every new 3G phone out lately and talk about how its coming to T-mobile, that if they added this band, that band or if they added a dishwasher and a dry cleaning service it would come to T-mobile.

Honestly, bro you need to chill on the excitement for device launches. Until someone like Tmonews, boygenius, engadget comes out and specifically says this phone has the 1700 band or a picture surfaces with T-mobile markings you need to RELAX.

Obviously yes we want these phones but if the major major bloggers aren't discussing the T-mobile prospects why should you, an unknown entity start discussing hopes and dreams.

not really
I didn't point out W760 till it's posted on cellphonesignal, as well as Bella
the latter one, I did a web search, and got an unbelievable answer: P5, and I didn't believe at all
and lately SE announced Z780, the spec is match with Bella, that I suspect it will come to T-Mobile
and I don't point every single 3G phone will come to T-Mobile, I have to do some web research before putting any speculation

the new RM-407 has passed FCC, which has NA1700 and 2100 (for NA and Europe/Asia)
by FCC doucmentation, it uses BP-4L battery, which is used by E61i and E90
then I guess this'll be an Eseries phone

I don't mind it's whether E66 or E71 (and hope this RM model will be either above)
E66 and E71 is a mix of Eseries and basic Nseries (it equips 3mpx AF cam with light, like N73)
