You could always get a $500 pc from somewhere with a TV tuner card in it.... install Orb for free... then get you a Win Mobile device... You can change channels etc... There is no subscriptions etc... Plus you can stream all your music, videos, etc to your phone.

Works good on Edge too...

Really you don't even have to go to a WinMo device for Orb. Orb works on Nokia devices too. I have it running on my N95 and it really isn't that bad. It takes a bit of a learning curve to learn how to set everything up but once you get it going it isn't that bad.

I'm not sure what Orb is, but thank you for the tip, I'll check it out!

I'm a junkie for using my phone for everything except talking on it 🙄

i had this very question awhile ago: about T-Mobile's interest with TV in phones. I don't think they care about doing it.

They're all about "Stick Together", or communicative devices. What you'll see in awhile is something called, "See what I see", where you stream video to one another live, instead of in message form.

you will never see mobile TV branded by T-mobile. They believe it is an unnecessary commodity when it comes to communication.

I remember that from when I worked for T-Mobile. They stated that you won't find streaming video or audio on any of their devices cause it's not something that keeps people connected.

They had this whole saying that Bonita Inza (at the time Senior VP of Retail Sales and Operations), that T-Mobile goes to the end of technology and brings back what is relevant to the consumer. I find that a load of well we won't go there. Consumers want streaming video and streaming audio.

I work for at&t now, while I do miss working for T-Mobile as I didn't have to deal with the headaches that I have to deal with from at&t customers, at&t does in fact offer the things that consumers want. Video Share where you can stream live or recorded video to anothe...

most people do not want that feature.

yeah its cool to have, but keep in mind those people who want all that are not t-mobile's target customers.

T-Mobile says they target consumers who want affordability while staying connected with those who matter most, or something like that.

I'm sure eventually, with the role out of 3g, streaming audio and video will be available because of the phones capabilities.

Some customers do want such features, but not all of them. I've worked for VZW for about six months and I get an inquiry about TV about once or twice a month. Music is much more popular.

But I wish Tmo had it - not bad enough to pay an ETF or anything.
