Hey, I'm hoping someone on her will be smart enough to help me out, or maybe someone who works for tmobile would be cool enough to do a little work to help me outtt.

I have at&t, and i've wanted a sidekick for sooo longgg. I finally got a Sidekick 3 from a friend who didn't want it any longer because she got something else. I thought it might be a cool project to try and unlock it myself so that it can work with my at&t simcard.
Well needless to say it's harder than i thought.

Is there anybody that knows how to do it? punching in a code or going through a step process to make it so the sidekick can work with my at&t simcard?

I don't need the internet to work or anything, just calls and texting.

I'd be overjoyed and so excited i...

Right now inless microsoft changes the danger software it will only work with tmobile. Even on tmobile if you do not have the sidekick feature the phone will not work 100%. It will reset it self and delete all of your messages and contact list. Right now you are out of luck to say.

The Sidekicks are basically on the same level as the iPhones when it comes to unlocking them. It is possible to unlock the phone to be used on ATT, but you won't get it from T-Mobile. Mainly because they don't even have an unlock code for it. If you want to get it unlocked, there are stores and websites that will do it for you, for a fee.

I do know one process that has worked, but it does require you to redo the process every time you turn the sidekick off.

not only that, but you lose all kinds of info on the phone without the data plan every time you turn it off. the sk is designed to run off the sk internet plan, and unlike other smart phones, it keeps most of its memory there

Thanks for your guys responses.
I'm interested in finding those websites, do you have a reliable one? I'm not even going to need to keep the texts or anything for a long period of time, i'm just looking to use it every once in awhile instead of my iphone, and have just texts and calls work.

I tried calling T-mobile today and telling them i'm going to france for a couple months and are needing the code, they refused.
