T-Mobile and Late Fees

I am currently with at&t... I have been unemployed for quite some time and I could not pay my phone bill... Well my phone has been turned off since the beginning of December and it was only like 274... Now it is about 540 bucks and I am trying to figure out what the hell at&t is doing... I am really considering leaving them when I do get back on my feet... I just wanted to know if T-Mobile keeps adding up the money when a person is unable to pay their bill... I do plan on paying what I do owe but not no damn 540 plus bucks... They can kiss it on that note.. I am one that pays my bills on time but I am having a hard time right now and I explained that to them but I guess they really just dont care... Thanks

Here is the general deal for the most part with wireless billing. Now don't get me wrong, I am not sticking up for AT&T by any means, or the way billing is generally done.

Now, let's say that $274 is what you owed on your bill for Nov.1 - Nov.31. The bill due date for this is generally three weeks to a month after your last day of use. (Lets say Dec. 31 is your bill due date) Now let's say you cancelled service on Dec 31st while in contract. AT&T would add your $274 bill + your december use + an early termination penalty= (Sounds like $540)

-If your wondering {why?} The reason is when you activate you don't actually pay your first months bill till 6-8 weeks later- you are always "technically" at least a month behind because of the wa...

Well at least you was nice about it unlike those jacka**es over at VZW... I know they added the ETF on there themselves but I am not sure where the new 85 bucks come from.. They told me that I did not have to pay the ETF once I pay what I owed and I dont have a problem with that, its just dont be adding on extra money when I done told you my situation and yes I do miss my regular phone ☚ī¸ go phone is so not for me... Thanks

FYI, those jackholes in the VZW forum that made the rude posts about your question are anti VZW trolls. If you take a look at the posting history of VZWookie you will see that he is just a stupid troll that has been complaining about VZW for a long time.
Trueu seems to just be a stupid troll in general, not specifically anti VZW, more of just anti social trying to start fights.

Please just be aware that if you post in the VZW forum you might need to check the history of the person that replies to you as you are more likely to be getting a reply from a stupid troll than from someone that represents VZW or is even a VZW customer.

but as for your question, if your service for VZW is shut off for non payment your billing stops and you a...

Why did they charge you 175 four times? To me that does not make any sense... Also, why was it a mistake to switch to T-Mobile?

all post paid accounts are billed in advance. By all carriers. Its how they minimize their losses.

wrong. T-Mobile bills after the fact, and there are two billing types for at&t customers, advance and arrears. I have never had or sold us cellular, alltell or verizon, so I can't speak for them. 😎

Hmm...Let's think about your post for a second. "All postpaid accounts are billed in advance." Definition of post paid: paid after the fact. Definition of billed in advance: billed beforehand...You might want to rethink that post.

yeah hmm lets think. You sign up and then you get a bill for the pro rated month you started in and then the next months bill. Reason your fist bill is so much more then normal. It is like this on the cable bills, satalite, ect ect ect. You might want to look into it before you post!

look at your bill and see for the dates your being billed its always a month in advance. You bill ends say the 19th of feb. you bill will be for 19 feb to mar 19th.

If T-Mobile bills in advance, why come out with Flexpay, which has customers pay for the service in advance??? Cell phone carriers bill postpaid for monthly plans except in situations like Flexpay or something similar. Landline carriers bill in advance for monthly fees with the exception of long distance, which is of course billed afterwards. If you look at a cell phone bill, it'll show the cycle date(example: March 20 to April 19th) and it'll be due around the 15th or 16th of May. That is what is called postpaid service.

not all. What pre paid is is if you don't have the credit on your account you can't use your phone. In post paid if say like my alltel serivce and when I had sprint you pay in advance one month. If you go over you can still use your phone. All other charges like add ons are billed also. Cable does this along with landline phones. As I said tmobile used to do this. And yes your right as far as due dates. My alltel bill comes out today it will be due the 28th of this month but it will be for charges from Feb 10 to Mar 10th.

at&t most likely hit you with an ETF. Just like at&t, t-mobile will shut you off like that if you don't pay yopur bills. I don't mean to seem harsh, but they did not force you into hard times. They do care, but they care about you fulfilling the subscriber agreement.
