Holiday promotions?

celln00b

Dec 17, 2004, 10:55 PM
I'm a current customer looking to renew and get a new phone(thinking of the A630) however I notice there haven't been any holiday promotions yet..

Anyone heard of any being coming out in the next week/month in the PNW region? Should I wait longer??

😁 What should I do? If I sign up for the $45.99 plan that includes 1000 minutes with Unlimited Night and Weekend Minutes, which probably requires a contract extension, would I be able to get a New EDGE phone next year when they launch it without extending my contract again. Meaning that if I change to the new plan, I will have another year put on my contract, but when I go to get a NEW EDGE phone next year when they launch it, will that add one more year to my contract, making me have 2 more years with T-Mobile or just 1 more year?

A contract just means we have an agreement with you that you will remain our customer for a certain time. Unless going through an indirect dealer the 11/11 "same as new" upgrade policy will still apply to you. Although, we may ask when you do end up getting a new phone, to resign for another year to get the full discount.

I just read over your last comment again, so let me clarify....When you extend your contract, you aren't adding to time you have left on an existing contract. You're replacing it. So, if in January you renew your contract for a pricing plan for 12 months, knock one month off and upgrade your phone in febuary, you won't have 23 months on your contract. You'll have 12, never any more. make sense?

Um, not sure...I will have to double check, but I think they're permanent. I didn't see an expiration date. (Don't mark my words on that just yet, though)

Cause, if its not temperary, I will upgrade in June when they launch EDGE, so I can get a new EDGE phone and a new contract.

But why do you think there's any advantage to doing that? If you are required to extend your contract with the new plans (and if they're not promotional you won't have to) and when you get a new Edge phone in June then you will have to go into a contract for a year. What's your advantage not to get into the new plan now?

Cause I just wanted to add only 1 year, since I am currently on a month-to-month plan now.

It's been repeated at *least* several times. You're *never* going to add more than one year. That's *never*! If you were on contract and you added a phone or changed and required a contract that contract would start when you got the new phone or got the new plan. You will *NEVER* have any contract of over one year. JUST ONE YEAR CONTRACTS!!!!!!!

I guess part of that is are you happy with your service with T-Mobile? If you are why would you have a problem with extending your contract another year?...

You will never have a contract of more than a year. If you were on a contract and opted for a new phone or another plan all they'd do is start the contract from the new date that you either got the phone or got the promotion.

will those rates be available everywhere or in only select markets? i am in the

Basically, it looks like 39.99 is going to be buying a thousand minutes from now on everywhere, because the 59.99 1000 N/W plan is being grandfathered. The 1000 no N/W plas is also going away, and I for one couldn't be more happy--I really don't like that rate plan!
