Say bye bye to deposits

Once FlexPay comes out in the next few days no more deposits.

Customers can either get regular post paid, prepaid, or flexpay (replacing smart access).

With flexpay:
No deposit
Pick from any regular plan or features
Pay your monthly service in advance
Same contract pricing on phones with 2 year contract

Simply put, if your credit sucks you can get post paid like service...you just have to pay each month in advance and not go over your minutes.

Few other things with FlexPay:

If you do go over your monthly minutes the account will then only allow myfave calls, mobile to mobile calls, and night/weekend calls to still go thru. Not bad in my opinion!

If you do not pay your amount by the due date for the next coming month the service will be turned off completely until you do pay, but when you do pay, it is pro-rated from that date thru the rest of the month. They will not charge you for the days you did not have active service. Post paid wont do that!

That sounds good,

1. When does that begin?
2. If you just signed up for pre-paid, will they take that into consideration, as far as a price break?

It was supposed to be out already but pushed it back till next week at some point.

Smart Access will no longer be offered but they will not migrate customers over from smart access to flexpay...yet anyway

If you already have prepaid you can use the same phone and not have to sign a contract, but no credits on what time you already paid for or whatever.

Also, there is a 4.99 monthly premium you would pay for having the program, montly rates are just as post paid otherwise.

They had the Philly Market event last night, i went to and they said it would start today. Along with the FlexPay came 9.99 unlimited text, so they are bring in the customers and keeping there plans low, but still offering all they can.

3.8 million out of the 4.4 million applicants were denied because of credit issues, so this takes care of that 3.8 million......you will see everyone pockets getting bigger very soon.

Flexpay works with all the plans, they dont exclude any plans from what i understand, there are no limitations you just pay in advance so there are no overage charges, other then the flexpay account if you need more minutes or wanna buy ringtone, and wallpaper...

Chocolateman you asked about the phone price on prepaid. The phones to the best of my knowledge are priced at full retail. The only way to get a discount is to sign a contract. I'm also not too sure about the unlimited text for $10 in my market. Could just be a philly thing. 😁

I dont know, but im sitting infront of 2 different posters hangin on the wall that state it. Flexpay with a 2 year contract still wont be a normal 2 year contract price on the phone. The price will be alittle higher, but the month to month flexpay (something that will prolly take over prepaid) the price of the phone is full price like supremecellgod said.

most of what i hear is $50 less than retail price for the flexpay contract, retail price for the month to month. keep in mind you will not have an activation fee like the standard postpaid do, so that is also a $35 discount.

Jul 20, 2007, 8:07 PM
We will prob be charging $30 over new activation price.

FlexPay is just like the existing SmartAccess....the contract price on the phones are the same whether your post, flex, or smart.

There will not be a zillion 2 year prices on the phones depending on your plan....one two year price regardless of what your going with.

From Streamline:

How does FlexPay differ from Postpaid?
FlexPay and Postpaid differ in the following ways:
With FlexPay, customers pay for their monthly service before the start of the next service cycle; with Postpaid, they pay in arrears.
With FlexPay, customers have tools to help them manage their wireless spending, such as Spend Control and FlexAccount.
Spend Control - A FlexPay feature that automatically stops customers from going over their WHENEVER Minutes, thereby preventing them from incurring overage charges.
FlexAccount - A separate pre-funded account that customers use to pay for fun features like ringtones, wallpapers, extra minutes, international dialing, and roaming while in Mexico and Canada.
With FlexPay, custo...

Right, im not saying they have to pay full price, but im telling you with any indirect dealer they are going to charge more then a normal activation because, from what im told, any flexpay activation's commission is minimal. So to make up the difference the price will be alittle high. Such as the price i pay for the phone minus 50 bucks... otherwise youll go outta business because youll be losing money. Thats just what ive been told by everyone that works for or with t-mobile. is it stupid? yea it is, but until the commission on flexpay is more for the indirect dealer that is how it will prolly be.

Oh, your indirect.

Thought you was referring to corp stores not offering rebates. Prices are same with rebates in a corp store.

If your prices are higher it will be hard to sell/compete with corp stores.

yea i know, its tuff... and i might go corporate myself for the beni's but as indirect we got stuff up our sleaves to compete with the corp stores. crazy promos and all that non sense.

Jul 23, 2007, 10:10 AM
in my stores we are cheaper than corp stores on 70% of our products. flexpay will be in the remaining 30% due to commissions. we would like to be more competitive on flexpay, and may be in the future if the commission is raised to make it so we don't take a large loss on chargebacks. the month to month, which is what i am told the majority of people will be qualified for based on the previous 4 months credit inquiries companywide, will remain retail price for the phone.
