Averagejoe, I assume that if I called Cingular and asked for a two-year contract on my current plan, they would say "no" and only offer a contract on one of their existing plans.

So...if I want anything comparable to the value of my current plan, I assume that I have to shop around like everyone else does. And if I want to continue to use the unlocked Motorola L6 that I just bought four months ago, I'll have to sign up with a GSM provider. And that means I'm restricted to either Cingular or T-Mobile, right?

I guess I shouldn't have expected this free lunch to last forever. Damn!
