New SIM cards as of last week

Can anyone tell me what's so special about this new SIM card? It shows as "SIM v.B 64K 410 UICC SIM"
WTH is v.B 64K?

My sims don't have this info on them. They are 3Gc 64Ksmartchip.

What does the sim card actually do besides store your account info and phone #s?? i dont know why there are diff kinds and sizes....and also in terms of t-shooting what does changing your sim card do?

thanks for the help...I know everthing i can know about cdma just like to have all the info on gsm as well..

The sim card is used to verify account authenticity. If you remove your sim from one device and put it in another your number will transfer with the sim rather than changing an ESN on the account. You can also copy your phone numbers to your sim and transfer those as well. Updating your sim from a 32k will give you a larger storage capacity and on some devices allow you to access cingulars 3G markets.

awsesome thank you, so when it comes to t-shooting iv seen on here where the ? has been asked"was the sim replaced" can a sim card become corrupt?

SIM cards sometimes can go bad. Also; a customer using a 32K SIM card will not take advantage of what our network can offer. 32K Sims don't or can't handle the whole spectrum offered nowadays

Sure, if you enter a security code and then PUK code incorrectly more than three times the sim will be permanently disabled. On occasion an unexplainable error will occur in which switching the sim fixes the problem. For instance i had someone in here with a phone that could call outbound but not recieve. Techs couldn't resolve issue but switching the sim did the trick.

I had a customer who's phone would reboot constantly with his SIM in, but with anyone elses it worked. How's that for a weird SIM issue?

is it possible to upgrade your SIM through cingular without updating your contract? i have a 32k, can i switch to a 64k? is there a fee?

just visit a corporate store and usually they will swap at no charge, if they do charge it should be about 25.00/ no contract.

they have a new program that allows from imo apps... like video calling.....................................
