How do you move contacts to new phone?

A friend of mine has a Cingular phone, and has about 200 contacts entered on his phone. His phone is pretty beat up, so I am planning to give him my old Cingular phone which is still in great shape. Does that sim card contain all the contacts, or just primary contacts? How many contacts can fit on the sim card. And, how do you move all those contacts over to a new phone?
Thanks for your help!

you should be able to move 200 contacts on the SIM. just make sure they are all stored to the SIM. if they aren't there should be an option to copy them all to it. if you can't get it to work, most stores have a CELLEbrite or similar machine they can plug the phone into to transfer the phonebook.

All I know is that it's a Nokia candy bar type phone, which I don't see in the current lineup. When I see him, I will check out the phone myself. The phone I am giving him allows copying to sim card. I don't know what kind of phone plan he's on, but, I would think he'd be able to upgrade the phone by now.
Thanks for the help.
