Using my upgrade and im lookin for a multimedia phone any suggestions?
The requirements i have is at least a megapixel camera,mp3 player,speaker phone.i dont want to pay more than 300 dollars. Any suggestions..it can come out in the next month it doesnt have to be out right now. some other hopefuls for me is the v635 off of ebay, or the walkman w600 when that comes out.

ou don't have to use all of the functions. It is a great phone and mp3 player. You will regret not getting this phone if PTT takes off.

I also had the same requirements as you when I decided to upgrade from my Moto V400 (also wanted bluetooth though). Personally I was bored with the moto Vxxx in general so chose to stay away from them. I scoured ebay for weeks, everything from Moto ROKR, Moto e398(older version of ROKR), high end Nokias, Sonys...pretty much looked in to every well rated phone on the market, flip, swivel, candy-bar styly, everything, even contemplated going to Verizon for their phones. I ended up choosing the Audiovox SMT 5600 because it was small, very well rated, and has Microsoft Windows Mobile, although that wasn't a requirement but it's a nice addition (no 1mp camera, but most 1mp cameras are still crap anyway). I agree with the 5600 is a very underated phone. Great mp3 player bluetooth camera and windows OS.

Actually im thinkin about getting the w600 by sony ericsson becaz I like the OS and Dont really need a smart phone because im not a business man just a college student but if i was looking for a smart phone I would lean for the 5600 because I heard nothing but great things for this phone. You may want to try the S710a. It is an amazing phone and you don't have to wait for it to come out like you would have to do with the w600.

I want a walkman branded phone becaz i would like to have alot of music phone combination. How about the w800? I should be getting decent coverage since cingular is integrating its networks. what is ur opinion? I tryed the s710a and had a horrible experience with call quality. Besides making calls the phone is absolutely wonderful.

Don't get the w800 as it is lacking the 850 band, which would severely limit where you can use your phone.
I have had absolutely no problems with the s710a as far as call quality. Actually, it is probably the best GSM phone I have had as far as that is concerned.
If you must have the walkman brand, wait for the w600 or w900.

I think i will wait for the w600 because i like the color scheme and the fact its smaller than the s710a but still has the same features. I heard the w900 will not work over here because it has some band 2100 i think and because theres no towers that will support it it will be a waste. I must say thanks for the advice and the patience u shown me.

All they would have to do is reband the W900 for use in the US. That isn't hard to do at all. I would guess that they would do that eventually.

In addition to my other reply to this post, keep in mind that the S710a has a memory stick slot and the w600 will not.
And the w900 will have the memory stick slot as well.

Transflash maxes out at 512mb (which is higher than the 128mb that the s710 will take).
I don't know if I would recommend that phone, though. Cingular decided against it after testing it for a reason. But it is up to you.

Damn, im looking for a cell phone with alot of memory that has a mp3 player so i can have one device. I also would like a megapixel camera that takes good pics. I dont want to buy an ipod but i guess it looks like i have to. I have a p777 now so i need something on that level with alot of memory an decent call quality.

I told you. Get the S710a. Then all you have to carry is the memory cards that you have all of the MP3's on. My honest guess is that you had a bad phone when you tried that phone before.

Oh, you are in the west....Go with Verizon....
They are by far the best for coverage and call quality in the west. I know from experience in trips to Phoenix, San Diego, and San Francisco this past summer. I had "no service" on my cingular phone while having full signal on my VZW phone.

The 5600 isn't doesn't have the walkman brand, but it takes a mini-SD card (currently up to 1Gig of storage, if formatted properly) and comes with Windows Media player for MP3s and stereo ear buds.
