Internet content filters

by snoogy    Jul 17, 2013, 6:06 PM

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on internet content filters. I prefer basic, inexpensive phones; I've had a Sony Ericsson W518a for a couple years and been satisfied with the phone and its limited mobile email and internet capability. However, recently the Yahoo format was changed such that there are no content filters available. So I am seeking a new, At&t supported phone with some web access and reliable content filters. Does anyone know of a way of trying out the relevant features of a phone before purchase (or an online simulation)? Or failing that, does anyone know of specific models to recommend? I am an "authorized user" in a family plan with eligibility for a "free upgrade" so I suppose that affects which models would be available/preferable.
Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated; as you can probably tell, I know very little about the terminology and specifics of cellular technology and the industry; please be patient and ask clarifying questions if necessary.
Thanks!
