Need Advice on Phone Selling/New Activation

Okay, here's my master plan. ;)

Is this even possible?

I am currently under a 2 year contract, but my wife (we are on a family plan) is out of her 2 year contract.

I'd like to upgrade to a newer phone - my wife is perfectly happy with the phone she has (don't ask me how you can be happy with a 2 year old phone). ;)

Would it be possible to:

1) Activate an old phone for me and sell the current one I have that is on a 2 year contract.

2) Upgrade her line to the phone I want with a new 2 year contract.

3) Switch numbers so that I can use the new phone with my line, and she can continue to use her old phone with her line.

Possible?

Thanks. 🙂

yes, cross upgrades are a standard practice. You will upgrade her line, her lien will get the two year contract and than you just put your simcard in the new plan. this is not frowned upon and you can tell the store you are doing this. as for selling your old phone, by all means do as you want with it, its yours.

Yes as previously stated by Kanima cross upgrades are pretty standard. Just make sure when you go to do the cross upgrade you inform the rep what you are doing so they don't activate the phone on her line and deactivate her current phone in the process.
