Android 4.0 for Galaxy S2

by toaster oven    Jun 27, 2012, 10:53 AM

Has anybody else here updated to ICS for the S2? I must admit that so far (only 2 days in) I am disappointed with it. I have noticed that several of the animations seem to be rougher than they were with 2.3. The unlock screen hiccups every time and just doesn't look very fluid. Every time I open the phone app to make a call they keypad takes a second to load. For some reason, if you're not using a live wallpaper, the image that you select is static, and doesn't move as it did before. Samsung didn't include the different categories of "apps" "widgets" and so on in the menu, something that I was looking forward to. They didn't even take the time or effort to add any kind of 3d animation to the widgets on your home screen as you move from one to another. Just plain left to right movement. Overall, this DOESN'T seem like the 2.3 to 4.0 jump that it is, more like the 2.1 to 2.2 that I remember on the Captivate. There are some improvements, I'll list those if anybody is interested.
